March 14: Govt. Resignation Sign that Hizbullah's Regional Agenda Has Become Burden on it Allies
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe March 14 General Secretariat noted on Wednesday that Hizbullah's allies can no longer cover up the party's regional agenda.
It said in a statement after its weekly meeting: “The resignation of Premier Najib Miqati demonstrated that Hizbullah's regional agenda has become a burden on its allies.”
It therefore hoped that the resignation would “serve as an opportunity for all sides to return to respecting the constitution,” urging President Michel Suleiman to immediately set the date for parliamentary consultations to appoint a new prime ministers.
The government resigned on Friday over its failure to approve extending the term of Internal Security Forces chief Ashraf Rifi and forming the authority to oversee the parliamentary elections.
In addition, the March 14 forces stressed the importance of adhering to the Baabda Declaration, which calls for steering Lebanon away from regional crises.
They demanded that all Arab and international authorities adopt the declaration in all statements related to Lebanon.
“The Baabda Declaration should serve as the basis of the new government's ministerial statement,” they stressed.
Signed during a national dialogue session in June, the declaration calls for Lebanon to disassociate itself from regional conflicts.
FT, FSA really doesn't need any money from Saqr/hariri...they have enough money from Qatar. they need arms...Even when the campaign of the partial recordings was proven be a fake with clear evidence you still believe these allegations? Stupid or playing stupid? Wallaw?!
mowaten- HAHAHAHAH. That's your proof? an article written by al akhbar? you might as well start using the onion for a reference.
Don't expect FT to use logic. His comments are desperate and illogical, his ill-informed perspectives.
It seems like the FPM has given you a daily quota of things to write. This is a losing argument FT. HAs alliance with the regime has isolated us from the the Arab league, the UN, even BRICS maintains neutrality. Most importantly it isolated itself from the Lebanese.

@slash gave you the declared reason for M8 not wanting Rifi where he is. The real reason is because Rifi, and Brig. Gen. Wissam al-Hasan, set up a very effective intelligence branch called the data branch "Fir3 el Ma3loumat". They fought for a long time to close that branch and failed. They then succeeded in assassinating Brig. Gen. Wissam al-Hasan on October 19, 2012 which had the un-intended consequences of finally cementing the legality of the data branch. Knowing that eliminating Rifi as they did with Al-Hasan is going to be more difficult, they opted to try and take control of it by not extending Rifi's term.
And that as they say is the rest of the story.
yes and because rifi is clearly against hezbis so they want to replace him with one of their man... plain simple!

First off, you beat me to a very good analogy, chapeau bas.
Sure it takes two to tango and M14 have made many mistakes along the way. Even so, one needs to espouse certain political principles and comparing those of M8 with M14 I will choose M14's declared philosophy and principles any day.
If all Lebanese were in agreement we would not be having this discussion and the country would be stable and prosperous.
If not M14 or M8, one is free to choose ones point of view. The bottom line for me is that Lebanon not be subservient to the hegemony of primarily Iran, and anyone else after that. It is my perception that HA and Iran pose by far the biggest mortal anger to Lebanon and us Lebanese.
