Report: Saniora to Head to Riyadh on Saturday to Meet Hariri
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةHead of al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc ex-PM Fouad Saniora will head a delegation to Saudi Arabia on Saturday for talks with former PM Saad Hariri to brief him on the ongoing consultations among the parties affiliated in March 14 alliance.
According to al-Joumhouria newspaper published on Friday, Saniora and the accompanying delegation will discuss with Hariri, who is currently in Riyadh, the formation of the cabinet, the new electoral law and the critical situation the country is passing through.
The newspaper said that Saniora will convey Hariri's point of view to his allies.
Concerning the formation of the new cabinet after Prime Minister Najib Miqati announced his resignation last week, As Safir newspaper reported that Hariri hasn't taken his stance from running to the premiership yet.
The newspaper said that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, the United Kingdom and several other western countries are not enthusiastic about the possibility that Hariri might vie for the premiership.
Sources close to the ex-PM said that he strongly opposes the nomination of Miqati to the premiership.
“The man is not desired by us anymore,” the sources said.
They pointed out that Hariri “is the main candidate of the March 14 opposition.”
“Our allies shouldn't say their final decision in the matter before Hariri says who his candidate is,” the sources said.
Hariri, headed a cabinet in 2009, until its collapse in 2011 after March 8 alliance ministers withdrew from his national unity government.
Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat's 12-member National Struggle Front parliamentary bloc, along with the March 8 majority led by Hizbullah, brought Miqati to the premiership.
The only illegitimate is you! But Alas, I won't keep a too serious tone with you, so ill make a joke: What was the most confusing day for March 8 coalition (mar 8?) ? Nope.
Fathers Day. That will tell you whose the illegitimate.
I don't know which is harder: trying to get your to swear allegiance to Lebanon over Iran or to pay for electricity...
I am not saying that i love Hariri, but you meed to allie with your countrymen and contribute to making it better, then you can have a say as to whose legitimate and who isn't.
Karim :You don't have to share your vomit talk everytime .Zip it and do yourself a favour or you will end up banned for hateful comments .
Hey Mr karim_m1
Why dont you stay in your ancestral home country you pathetic Irani jihadist terrorist. You were the worst citizen this country ever had seen and the illegitimate resistance you joined was the greatest failure in Lebanese history.
Down with HA and terrorism!
Exactly, Karims allied with a party that assassinates its own country men, attacks our neighbors, plants cowardly bombs, abducts. Who is the terrorist you haiwan?
you are a disgrace to the animal "race"! Your hatred and prejudice are evident from all your sub-human comments! Your hatred and jealousy know no limits! That is to be expected from scum iranian thugs.... what a shame this portal allows "things" such as YOU to comment.
Unfortunately my friend Lebanese only vote for the family name and not who has the rich credentials for the job. I sugest that anyone who runs for a government office be sterilised first so he won't have a child to will the post to.
1- it is not qatar, turkey or saudi arabia's business if we name hariri or not.
2- we will not name hariri because he lacks maturity and did a lot of judgment mistakes that caused him to loose the premiership in the first place.
3-I dont agree with karim who said worst prime minister about him. Hariri tried to do a good job, but he lacks experience, judgment and maturity.
4- I agree with phoenix, that there are a ton of excellent moderate sunnis with a good vision, diplomatic skills and judgment who would be good candidates. Kassar is one of them, mikati is one of them and there are many others.
