Al-Rahi Meets Hariri, Says Christian Presence Protects Muslims from Extremism
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةMaronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi on Wednesday held talks with former prime minister Saad Hariri in the French capital Paris.
Earlier in the day, al-Rahi said the presence of Christians in the Middle East “protects Islam from bigotry and extremism,” during a lecture at the Catholic institute in Paris.
“It is our duty, we the Christians of the Levant, to inform the West of the true nature of Islam,” al-Rahi added.
“According to us, Muslims are not terrorists. They are not people who endorse violence or war. Islam and Muslims are moderate,” said al-Rahi.
On Tuesday, al-Rahi held talks with French President Francois Hollande on the latest political developments.
The patriarch met with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius on Monday.
Well Christians think what they have is the truth and Muslims think what they have is the truth , and even Catholics believe that they are right and non Catholics are heretics. So basically everyone is fanatics then right?

I am from a Maronite family although non religious and living abroad... Leb. Christians can express extremism and fundamentalism in their specific way... Thus Rahi should also show the example though Leb. Christians and Maronites specifically... Christians in Leb should be modest and not show themselves or think they are superior or more evolved than their Muslim or Druze compatriots. They must kill the arrogant and racist spirit they have toward anything not from their religion. They must stop living in the illusion that they are purely Phoenicians. They must show the example and tolerate criticism and freedom of expression specifically toward Christianity, coming from atheists, fashion, humor etc. etc...
