Geagea Lashes Out at Nasrallah, Says Syrian Regime Will Fall despite Hizbullah Support

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea slammed on Wednesday Hizbullah's chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, saying that the Syrian regime doesn't need the party's intervention in battles on its territories.

“The Syrian regime will collapse and you will not be able to stop history from writing itself,” Geagea said during a televised speech.

He wondered that if the regime was strong then it would protect al-Qusayr and the Sayyeda Zainab shrine.

“Your claims that you are defending the Lebanese in the Syrian border town of al-Qusayr and the shrine of Sayyeda Zainab are merely to justify your military intervention in the neighboring country,” Geagea said.

On Tuesday evening, Nasrallah acknowledged that members of his group are fighting inside Syria to help the Lebanese in Syria’s border town of al-Qusayr, assuring that the party prides itself in its martyrs.

He announced that Hizbullah fighters are defending holy places in the area: “Armed groups are only hundreds of meters away from the Sayyeda Zainab shrine and Takfirist groups launched clear threats on the Internet that they will destroy the shrine should they enter the area."

Concerning the formation of the cabinet, Geagea said that Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam has so far failed to form it as some parties consider that they “own certain portfolios.”

Salam has announced that he wants to form a 24-member government with rotational portfolios. He has also rejected having electoral candidates in the executive authority whose only mission would be the supervision of the parliamentary elections.

Geagea also pointed out that some sides are obstructing all the efforts to reach an electoral law.

The political powers have so far failed to reach an agreement on an alternative law, threatening to postpone the parliamentary elections that are scheduled for June 16.

There is a long overdue revolt against Hezb. We have been tolerating them & their idiocies for years. Enough is enough. They are the only thing holding Lebanon from prosperity & peace. I hope there are enough Shia that will also see their disastrous fate being led by that calamity of a leader. I hope that the rest of March 8 dissociates themselves completely from Hezb and their antics. We knew they were not very Lebanese. Now they are proving it further.

The Resistance takes pride in its martyrs...that's why they tried to keep it a secret for about a year.

Default-user-icon Bob (Guest) 02 May 2013, 22:17

Martyrs are stupid. Dying for a religion when most all believe in the same god. Die for truth ,justice and human rights. Not some religion that is different than your only in their customs. We have but one God and should not be fighting between ourselves on the proper way to pay our respect for him. If you insist on dying, die for the right reason. To prove your religion is better than others is not the right reason.

noble call for unity.
however the general also has decided to play it solde with nasrallah, thus making unity impossible.
at this stage I agree with your assessment, there is no other option but war, as hizbushaitan's foolish involvement in Syria is dragging everybody else down that path.

Thumb Bandoul 01 May 2013, 17:52

If I said it once I said it a thousand times, GMA, Franjieh, Gemayel and Geagea, get out of the way with your personal agenda's and narcissistic feuds so our Christian brothers and sisters can unite under one banner: 10452 (God rest your soul ya ibn el watan el waheed, Bashir) for the sake of our homeland, period, the end, nothing more and nothing less and may the fires of hell consume all forms of extremists, Shia or Sunni who's only agenda is to dominate the other and terrorize, crush and persecute Christian throughout the world.

Thumb geha 01 May 2013, 18:23

bandoul
even if geagea wanted to stay out of the upcoming conflict, aoun is preparing for war:
lately a document was provided by an ex fpmer to us: this document cwas a list of all active LF guys in kesrouan with their addresses, phone numbers and so on.
fpm plans are clear and they have hizbushaitan elements ready to assist them.

Thumb Bandoul 01 May 2013, 18:38

@geha, if you ever read any of my posts, then you know my feelings towards GMA and his band of imbeciles but you are making a serious charge against FPM and those on the so-called list, if true, should be under protection 24/7 and the list should be exposed by the national media. What we excel at in Lebanon is perpetuating rumors. Have you seen and authenticated the authority of the list? I can make a list and mail it to you but what does that prove? You are smarter than this geha, please let's all rise above the BS, the country is about to get flushed down the toilet by selfish, self-serving politicians namely GMA, Franjieh, Gemayel, Geagea and Nassrallah, the latter being a mercenary rather than a politician. We cannot let this happen. Christians must unite under 10452, there is no Lebanon until this happens.

Thumb geha 01 May 2013, 19:07

bandoul: this is no charge, it is a fact I lived.
I was present for the reception of the list and the confessions of the guy.
this is no BS, it is reality.
there are forces at work as we speak. if it wasn't for Geagea insistence on calming things down,....

Thumb Bandoul 01 May 2013, 19:47

@geha, I am not doubting your integrity, but if you and the1phoenix hold such esteemed positions in your respective political organizations, then you should step out from the shadow of your keyboards, identify yourselves and make your arguments publicly where they can be debated and responded to...a third world anonymous forum such as this one is not the place to promote solutions and agendas be them good, bad or indifferent to the well being of the Lebanese as a whole or in part. By the way I do not engage in the practice of thumbs up/down so don't think I thumbed you down. I respect your right to express yourself.

Thumb geha 01 May 2013, 19:55

as well I do not care for the thumbs u or down :) some have played this game with me and they finally realized I do not care.
As for working in the open, you can rest assured I am doing that, and my presence on this site is just for fun and sometimes to clarify certain points.

Thumb Bandoul 01 May 2013, 18:45

@the1phoenix, Sheikh? Really? In this day and age, we still label these people Sheikh, and Beik and BS like that? Young Gemayel is too close and too tied to the problem to be objective lest your forgot they assassinated his brother??? Did you ever consider what would happen God forbid a thousand time that he too is assassinated? How many Gemayel's do we sacrifice before we learn our lessons so history does not repeat itself? These leaders, well intentioned or not are the source of the Christian schisms and hatred. They absolutely must step off the stage for the wound to close once and for all.

Missing rudy 02 May 2013, 13:20

@bandoul designation like sheikh and beik shouldnt be a problem. in some (developed) countries you still have kings and queens and knights etc.

its what they do, not how you call them.

the designation is part of the culture, which the lebanese supposedly pride themselves in. i dont particularly care and im not defending it, but also i dont really see it as something bad

Thumb Bandoul 02 May 2013, 15:18

@the1phoenix...good post, thanks.

Thumb Bandoul 02 May 2013, 15:24

@rudy, culture is great :) no disagreement there...it is when we blindly follow the so-called Za3eems to the abyss were I have a problem. These are public servants who chose this path supposedly to help Lebanon and its people, what I see is that the people worship them as is if they are Gods, there is where I disagree.

Missing themadman 01 May 2013, 18:50

Thumb Bandoul 01 May 2013, 19:12

@themadman, part 1: my French is rusty but I will attempt to answer in the hopes I understood your message. Firstly I am not ashamed of my stance and I am not advocating the unison of Christians against anyone specifically but our unity for the sake of our preservation and the preservation of Lebanon as we know it in the modern day. It is the presence of Christianity in Lebanon that defied the rise and institution of an Islamic state, this is irrefutable. The deniers and their politically correct enablers be damned.

Thumb Bandoul 01 May 2013, 19:15

part 2: I have no ill will against Islam or its practitioners, but I disagree with the way it is practiced in Muslim dominated countries and do not wish for that life in Lebanon. There are illiterate elements in Lebanon being brainwashed to hate Christians. That is my opinion and I hope I am a thousand times wrong. When Christians in Lebanon loathe one another, very bad things happen, and many foreign influences exploit this schism. Many examples of this in history to support my claim be it from USA/Israel/West to Russia/Iran/Syria and give rise to things like civil war, Palestinian refugee camps, Israeli invasion and unholy alliances, Syrian hegemony, etc. My point is this, we have to stop being tools in the hands of others so history can no longer repeat itself. The only way to do this is put Feudalism behind us and follow principals instead of leaders.

Missing themadman 01 May 2013, 19:55

Bandoul Merci beaucoup pour ton point de vue civilisé.
Je suis désolé, je maitrise mieux le français que l'anglais. ce n'est pas grave c'est une qualité des libanais de pouvoir échanger en plusieurs langues. :)
you say "There are illiterate elements in Lebanon being brainwashed to hate Christians. " l'inverse est AUSSI vrai, malheureusement!!
"My point is this, we have to stop being tools in the hands of others so history can no longer repeat itself. The only way to do this is put Feudalism behind us and follow principals instead of leaders." tout à fait d'accord, mais nous DEVONS AUSSI mettre le confessionnalisme dernière nous. on devons tous s'unir, se parler, se comprendre, échanger les méfiances.

the_roar, you said: "Bring on the war you pathetic M14ers, lets see if your bite will match your bark", It is a shame people who claim to do charity work for the less fortunate, utter such ignorant rants and advocate war that always results in women, children and the elderly suffering the most. However, I thank you profusely for making my point. I doubly spit on you though you remain unworthy of my spit.

Europe managed to stop religious wars for the most part.
They removed religion from political power.
