Miqati: Dissociation Policy Prevented Sedition
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةCaretaker Prime Minister Najib Miqati reiterated on Thursday that the dissociation policy adopted by his government to distance Lebanon form the turmoil in Syria prevented sedition from fanning out in Lebanon.
“We succeeded to withstand the disturbances that surrounded us and the government was able, through the dissociation policy it adopted, to distance itself from the repercussions of the turmoil in Syria,” Mikati told an audience of Arab and Lebanese businessmen at the conference of Al-Iktissad wal Aamal magazine held at Phoenicia InterContinental Hotel.
He unwaveringly stressed “the commitments made by our government to distance itself is the proper national option. Any alternative would push Lebanon into a spiral that will be hard to get out from.”
The Baabda Declaration was unanimously adopted during a national dialogue session in June 2012. It calls for Lebanon to disassociate itself from regional crises, most notably the one in Syria.
Lebanese parties are sharply divided over the crisis in Syria as the March 8 alliance continuously expresses its support to Syrian president Bashar Assad, while the March 14 camp voices its support for the popular revolt.
The international community and analysts have expressed fears that the conflict in Syria may spill over into the Lebanon.
We are wasting time either in forming a cabinet or searching for a new electoral law, if 8 wins 14 will not let them work n same will happen if inverted.
The best solution is a small cabinet with only the heads of all major parties. I suggest a government of Hariri, Aoun, Berri, Geagea only. Each one can form a group to deal with all details. No for middle man anymore, only these 4 names will decide together.
Dissociation policy was blablabla! IS blablabla ! Ask the Dahyé basij ally about dissociatoon and tell me about it !
