Hariri Turns to Paris, Security Threats Not Confirmed

Sources escorting former Prime Minister Saad Hariri confirmed that he is in Paris along with his family, An Nahar newspaper reported on Saturday.

The sources refused to comment on reports that Hariri had received threats against his life.

French Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero had announced on Friday that the security of the ex-PM Hariri “is a priority for France,” as is the security of the whole of Lebanon and all Lebanese officials.

Asked if Hariri had sought refuge in France out of security fears, he responded that Hariri frequently visits the European country, adding that he does not have any information about the security claims.

Liberation French newspaper had reported earlier that Hariri had turned to France after he was the target of an assassination attempt in Lebanon by the Syrian regime last week.

It revealed that Washington and Riyadh had advised him not to return to Lebanon after U.S. and Saudi intelligence said that his life is in danger.

Why would anyone want to kill this fool? Who would benifit except the failing m14 movement. It's just an excuse the u.s. has made up to justify why Hariri gave up and left lebanon while he was still caretaker p.m.. Even the French say they know of no threat to his life.

A fool is a person who evaluates people based on his own prejudices rather than on facts or merits. Harriri the son entered politics after the assassination of his late father, and has no "bloody" or "dirty" history like many of the Lebanese clan leaders. He is a graduate of Georgetown University and a successful business man. He became Lebanon's Prime Minister and tried to include all political parties in a national unity government. This cabinet proved futile and useless as he was not allowed to govern.

Yes he has blood on his hands. Remember Fath al Islam? Remember the Salafites who invaded Ashrafieh and that Dr. Criminal called "minnina?" Remember Jound al Cham? Remember Ossama BinKabbar of Tripoli? Remember what the terrorists did in Tripoli when Hariri was given the boot a few months ago? NO BLOOD ON HIS HAND? Remember who released Dr. Criminal who assassinated another great Sunni PM? HE HAS MORE THAN BLOOD ON HIS HANDS. At the same time, he has no brains in the balloon sitting on his shoulders. Good riddance.

As for those in Fatah Al Islam, the army was deployed by the government at the time(which was led by M14), and it successfully got rid of the terrorists. And lets not conveniently forget that the leader of the group was freed by the Syrian regime so he can infiltrate Lebanon. Too bad we can't say that the same standard that was applied to get rid of Fatah Al Islam was applied to get rid of the May 7th thugs who terrorized a city, and lead to the killing of 40+ people one of which was very close to me, and no it wasn't a terrorist that they killed, it was a mother of two.

TO ROXTOX: may i add that the hizb which is now the ally of that poor frustrated orange general told that investing the nahr el bared camp was a red line!!!!
that the army had no right to get rid of fateh el islam....

and to BETTINO who suffers from alzheimer: remember your general fled lebanon letting his soldiers killed by the syrian army?
remember who was in charge at the time and let the syrians do this killing and under the orders of your orange general?
your puppet has more blood on his hand! remember your beloved ally the hizb told that invading nahr el bared was a red line???
don t you forget that your general has told that the syrians and only the syrians were responsible of the huge debt of lebanon???? that your general told that the syrians racketted lebanon? that the syrians are the only responsible of the huge corruption system in place and which YOUR friends have also benefited largely???

Are you so blind to deny the facts and the speeches of you leader?

To Bettino, i dont like geagea too much nor any of March 14th or March 8th, exept the late Gebran Tueni and now MP Sami Gemayel, but to be honest with you, even if Geagea did kill Rashid Karami, i am fully ok with it, because he has divided the Lebanese Army and provided palestinian and mourabitoun of their weapons, maybe you have to get your facts straight, he is well known to have been once of the biggest traitors, and God is great that he has been blown to a thousand pieces in Anti-aircraft RPG whether its the LF or Syrians who did it, He deserved what he got this worthless wahhabi disguised piece of garbage

To peace, it is worthless to make the Aounies remember anything, after 2006 , and their alliance with Hezbollah, they seemed to have lost memory, which is something we call, Post-traumatic disorder, happens when you receive a big shock, like for example GMA not getting the presidency , so he got this disorder and lost memory of his past as a vigorous and opponent of the syrian regime and Hezbollah. and it is confirmed everytime president Sleiman affirms himself, GMA stresses and gets all mad and starts insulting him, which is a disorder that gets in effect when he remembers his continuous failure to get the presidency
