Warrants Out for Suspects in Deadly Attack on Army in Arsal
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةMilitary Examining Magistrate Judge Imad al-Zein issued on Tuesday arrest warrants against two suspects involved in the killing of three Lebanese soldiers in the northeastern town of Arsal last month.
Al-Zein questioned Iman Shmaytiyeh and Ahmed Hussein Mohammed in the premeditated murder of the soldiers at a checkpoint in the area of Wadi Hmeid in Arsal on May 28, the state-run National News Agency reported.
Last week, State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr charged Shmaytiyeh and Mohammed in addition to a Syrian national, who is on the run.
The Syrian has been identified as Mashhour Abdul Mawla al-Rifahi al-Wazir.
The suspects face the death penalty if convicted.
The army said last week that its troops came under attack at the same checkpoint where the three soldiers were killed.
A clash ensued and two assailants were killed while the rest were able to escape, it said.
I hope they are caught and put to Justice...it would be a really good precedent in Lebanon!
Excellent! Waste no time in bringing the FSA-Al Qaeda terrorists and their February 14 Saudi-Wahabi allies to justice!
God bless the Lebanese army!
yeahh...not really accurate...M8 is as guilty as M14. just open ur eyes...get rid of all of them!
Hezb and the Salafists are the source of everything wrong in Lebanon. But since there are lot more Hezbis than Slafists and are much more armed, they become a much bigger source of instability...... law of proportionality.
