Aoun Meets Suleiman in Baabda for First Time in Several Months

President Michel Suleiman on Wednesday held talks with Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun at the Baabda palace, in the first meeting between the two men since several months.
The former army commanders discussed “the current political and security developments,” state-run National News Agency reported.
Aoun and Suleiman had been at loggerheads over the appointment of civil servants in posts reserved for Christians.
The two locked horns over the presidency of the Higher Judicial Council despite all attempts to reconcile their viewpoints.
A dispute between Suleiman and ministers loyal to Aoun prompted the president to wrap up a cabinet session held at the Baabda Palace on March 15.
The argument erupted over the renewal of the mandate of the head of the Center for Educational Research and Development Leila Fayyad.
The major dispute broke out when Suleiman rejected the controversial draft electoral law proposed by the Orthodox Gathering and endorsed by Aoun.
Recently, Aoun's relations with his allies in the March 8 camp have grown cold over a number of domestic issues.
On Tuesday, the FPM leader held talks with Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awadh Asiri.

GMA is the only person who can sit with anyone n say whatever he wants because he is a free man!! a true patriot that cannot be bought in the stock market as all your followers...he was the president n army commander n prime minister for few yrs it is fine, but he will mark lebanese history..these few bozos if one day history will mention them is because of GMA.

Flamethrower I was born.. I know I am older than you... I was active member of LF defending Lebanon from the low life Alawite Hafez Assad and his regime... So many of my friends died doing that... Yes I remember that Aoun was, but is did not happen thru means of election. It was Amin Gemayel brought him to fill the vaccum because again the terror Baath regime prevented election from happening... Too bad Flamethrower, I value you as a smart person with a lot of knowledge and humor, but it is sad to see you on the other side...

Good point ex-progma... He sold his soul and sided with the Baath regime and Hizbullah thinking that they will make him a president.. Well that didn't work. Now he is trying his luck with the Saudis... General Aoun is a low life who betrayed all his soldiers who died defending him... Every time I think about Aoun, the word "TFEH" comes to my mid...

for all ignorants above,GMA was the president,the prime minister,and the commander of the LAF.no one else ever held such position in lebanon.

Aoun is convinced Baabda seat is his 'legally' thats why he doesnt visit often the palace, it kills him to see this seat without him on it.
