Geagea Slams Nasrallah's Willingness to Resume Dialogue

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea criticized on Saturday Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's speech, lashing out at his announcement that he's willing to engage in the national dialogue.

“How dare Nasrallah call for dialogue a year after the Baabda declaration was unanimously by all sides,” Geagea said in a statement issued by his press office.

Nasrallah said on Friday that Hizbullah is willing to engage in national dialogue over a national defense strategy “without any preconditions.”

Nasrallah during the annual iftar banquet held by the Islamic Resistance Support Association said his party will resume dialogue “before or after the formation of the new cabinet, because we are honest in seeking to protect our country.”

The LF leader said that Nasrallah clearly violated the dissociation policy after his group engaged in battles in the neighboring country Syria.

The Baabda Declaration was unanimously adopted during a national dialogue session in June 2012. It calls for Lebanon to disassociate itself from regional crises, most notably the one in Syria.

The last round of national dialogue was held on September 20 at the Baabda Palace.

On Tuesday, President Michel Suleiman said that he hopes he will be able to call for a national dialogue session “soon” to discuss the defense strategy and find solutions to the current political crises.

He reiterated at an Iftar banquet in Baabda Palace calls for abiding by the Baabda Declaration, urging factions to commit to it “in words and in deeds.”

This stooge and disgrace to his Christian follwers couldn't even free a small section of Mount Lebanon because he's such a retard and was played by the Israelis. I can remind Samir geagea & all readers that you achieved a slaughter campaign against officers from the glorious Lebanese army, assassinated Lebanese Leaders including those Christians (e.g. Dany Chamoun, Tony Frangieh, etc) who posed a threat to your pathetic leadership of the LF during the 90s. You get paid by the Arabs (Qatar, Saudi Arabia & Kuwait) and the western Intelligence agencies to criticize honourable Lebanese Leaders and drive a campaign of division and hate in the country. You should be given a live sentence of hard labour for your crimes and sins. Then once you shall die Christ will deal with you by throwing you into the lake of fire only because then you will still not repent.

Who "slams" someones willingness for dialogue? Nasrallah called for dialogue about all domestic issues including the arms of Hezbollah and publicly stated for the first time that they wish for the LAF to take over the role of the "resistance". Shouldn't his statement be welcomed instead of "slammed"?

Sometimes its important to accept and welcome the olive branch. I'm interested in how the Kataeb responds. Sami Gemayel is the one to listen to.

Thumb Senescence 20 July 2013, 19:42

"Sami Gemayel is the one to listen to."
Agreed.

I sometimes think Geagea has some 'baggage' from his war/prison time.

ado,
I did not read this when I read his speech. He talked for a defense strategy but that is all. I believe what you have written above is your interpretation of his speech and not exact quotes.

Thumb geha 20 July 2013, 17:56

the problem is that nasrallah has no credibility anymore.
several agreements have been made on the conference table, and hizbushaitan ignored them and did just the opposite.
nasrallah is a liar and all he wants now is to have a cover from the Lebanese government for his actions in Syria.
who believes this man who is under Iranian orders to really abide by any agreement?
he broke each and every agreement made so far.

Thumb ado.australia 20 July 2013, 18:08

geha, who from the lebanese political arena, do you believe has credibility? please answer me that question.

to make it easier, please name a prominent politician from any major country in the world, who has credibility and not broken a political promise or deal.

Thumb geha 20 July 2013, 18:44

to break one promise one time or another is not unusual for politicians, however it is not the same for agreements where all politicians are normally held liable.
all the agreements with hizbushaitan have been broken by hizbushaitan, thus making nasrallah's call for a conference table as just BS.

I wish u were right, problem is, Nasra consider himself more of the iranian than the lebanese family. Many politicians give up their cause for interests, he gave up shia interests for his cause, ie wilayat faqih a.k.a the "resistance"...

Thumb geha 20 July 2013, 18:45

if really nasrallah and hizbushaitan are supporting the army let them surrender their weapons to the army without discussion.
otherwise talk is cheap.

Thumb general_puppet 20 July 2013, 19:01

“How dare Nasrallah call for dialogue a year after the Baabda declaration was unanimously by all sides,”... Geagea is telling it just like it is!

The usual stall technique... talk and keep everything the same. Hizbullah has always been Iran's tool, the difference is that since 2006 it is all out in the open. Hizbullah is officially part of the Lebanese government and officially officially part of the Axis? What is certain is that the Glorious militia is officially fighting Assad's war in Syria and dialogue will amount to nothing.

Missing helicopter 20 July 2013, 23:26

They need to prioritize their next assassination list and the dialogue is a good place to do just that.

Thumb Senescence 21 July 2013, 03:34

That's frighteningly reasonable, though unlikely.

Thumb Dr.I.Mughniyeh_theheadless 20 July 2013, 19:53

Geagea is right not to trust the Iranian foreign legion's word everyone knows the Iranian merc hassin's pathological liar (only yesterday he lied about what Bassil said) that's not only my opinion:

WikiLeaks U.S. Embassy cable published exclusively in the Iranian foreign legion's rag Al-Akhbar: On July 13, 2006, a day after the eruption of the July 2006 war, Free Patriotic Movement MP Farid Khazen expressed his anger with Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s “lies” during the national dialogue when he vowed to maintain the peace at the Blue Line.

To be fair I think Khazen is too harsh on Nasrallah after all the Iranian merc hassin follows orders his word is not worth $#!t.

Thumb beiruti 20 July 2013, 20:26

Geagea makes a good point. What's the point of dialogue with these people if they unilaterally break whatever accord is reached whenever their interests require it?
Nasrallah's approach to the Lebanese people is very condescending and paternalistic. He regards the Lebanese as small children for whom he is the wise and generous parent, bringing presents and "surprises" to the small children. Of course, if the children disobey, then, comes punishment with AK 47s, mortars and artillery. Mustn't disobey the wise and generous father Hassouna. It's all pure bullshit, and thank goodness that Geagea is calling him out. Nasrallah the clown --- when will the rest of the Lebanese rid themselves of this Rat and his Claouny friends.

Thumb beiruti 20 July 2013, 21:02

Roar, name me one time throughout all history where someone with power voluntarily gave it up. Nasrallah, now quakes at the words of Aoun?? Aoun is making Nasrallah come to the dialogue table where Hezbollah will be talked out of their weapons?? Hezbollah is fighting in Syria to keep its supply line open for weapons, and you write that they will be peacefully talked into surrendering them to the LAF?? Maybe you should think about what you want to say before posting.

I fear that the dialogue is a trap to do physical harm. Remember all the assassinations that took place during the first round of dialogue. I think they should have video conferences from their safe places (use technology). M14 can not afford any more assassinations, they already lost their bravest and brightest.

Whatever happened to talking to your enemies in order to resolve disputes. For someone who considers himself a doctor or should I say almost a doctor, Geagea needs to go back to school to learn the basics of conflict resolutions and disputes.
A convicted mass murderer and war criminal Geagea is in no position to lecture anyone let alone sayer Hassan Nasrallah about the the best interests of Lebanon. It is March 14 who broke the baadba agreement by financing and supplying weapons to the foreign terrorists that have destroyed Syria.
