The Council of the European Union and the European Commission added on Thursday Hizbullah's military wing to the EU's list of entities, groups and persons involved in terrorist acts, as agreed at the Foreign Affairs Council on July 22.

Those on the list are targeted with an asset freeze in the EU. In addition, member states have committed to enhanced police and judicial cooperation in related inquiries and proceedings, it announced in a statement.

The decision brings the number of groups and entities subject to these restrictions to 26, while 11 persons remain on the list.

At the same time, the Council also approved a Council and Commission declaration underlining that this decision, under under Common Position 2001/931/CFSP, does not prevent the continuation of dialogue with all political parties in Lebanon and does not affect the delivery of assistance to Lebanon.

In addition, the Council and the Commission agree that the decision does not affect legitimate financial transfers to Lebanon and the delivery of assistance, including humanitarian assistance, from the European Union and its Member States in Lebanon.

The Union remains fully committed to the stability of Lebanon.

As for all designations under Common Position 2001/931/CFSP, this decision will be reviewed on a six-monthly basis.

The legal acts were adopted by written procedure Thursday and will be published in Friday's EU Official Journal.

FYI
black listing hizbushaitan as a terrorist organization opens the door to the following:
- any Lebanese can places a complaint in a EU court seeking to indict this terrorist organization for what they did in Beirut in May 7th, and in Abra, among other things.
this is really a serious matter and I know already that documents are already being prepared for such law suits.
this is going to go crescendo worldwide against this terrorist organization.
finally hizbushaitan is starting to get what it deserves for its terrorist actions in Lebanon first then outside of Lebanon....

1 min ago Moussawi: Everyone knows that Hizbullah's political and military wings are the same.

3 minutes ago Moussawi: The decision is an insult against all peoples who believe in the resistance.

I don't believe in the "self proclaimed resistance" so I am not insulted.

Europe is broke, falling apart and the people hate their UNelected, rogue EU leaders, who represent nobody but corporate interests.

There is a saying if you stir the yogurt too much, the dirt will surface. I have for a while been routing for H.A. to further and maintain the true resistance. In my opinion, true resistance against Israel (the so called enemy/scape goat) does not exist without a meaningful plan for the forceful yet orchestrated exit of the Palestinians and their weapons from Lebanon. I thought this would have been a forefront agenda of H.A. I am not so sure anymore. Even if H.A. is able to diminish Israel's military standing in the M.E, I don't see how the Israelis will all of a sudden bend backwards and welcome the Palestinians back to their homes. Such will only bolster Iran's footprints in the region regarding oil related matters.
