Geagea during Ceremony Adopting LF By-Laws: This Cabinet is that of Blatant Hegemony

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea slammed the new government on Tuesday, describing it as one of blatant hegemony.

He asked during a ceremony adopting the LF by-laws: “How can we explain the formation of such a government during the period in which the region is witnessing radical change?”

“Lebanon, which has always spearheaded democracy in the Middle East, is now taking several steps back through inexplicable official practices,” he added.

“This is demonstrated through the offensive statements and threats of exile issues by some of its members and other political figures,” he said indirectly referring to Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun’s statements that former Prime Minister Saad Hariri should be given a one-way-ticket and remain abroad in Paris.

“The least that can be said of the government is that it belongs to out-dated Arab regimes,” Geagea noted.

“How can we explain the arrest of refugees fleeing the tragedies of revolution and their forced return to their homeland where they will be met with certain death?” he asked.

“How can we explain Lebanon’s position at the United Nations Security Council, which appears to be approving the bloody suppression of revolts in more than one Arab state?” he continued.

“At the height of the out-dated Arab regimes, the Lebanese people never accepted to be humiliated, so do you expect them to agree to it now? No, a thousand times no,” he declared.

“It’s touching that we are adding a new component to Lebanon’s democracy at a time when the Arab peoples are revolting in demand of freedom and human dignity,” he added.

“When the LF agreed to the national charter and the construction of the state at the end of the 1980s, not many believed that it would succeed after it laid down its weapons,” he said.

“The adoption of the by-laws is a central point it its ongoing democratic mission,” Geagea stressed.

Geagea: The LF would not have reached this point had it not been for the sacrifices of our martyrs, prisoners, and unknown soldiers.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:57

Geagea: The positive outcomes of adopting the by-laws will not only affect the LF, but they will affect political life in Lebanon and the region.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:55

Geagea: At the peak of the out-dated Arab regimes, the Lebanese never accepted humiliation, so do you now expect them to accept it? No, a thousand times no.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:54

Geagea: How can we as Lebanese explain the abduction of non-Lebanese on our land and their forced return to their homeland over their political opinions?

  • 28 June 2011, 17:54

Geagea: This cabinet is that of a blatant hegemony as demonstrated by the offensive statements and threats of exile by some political figures.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:53

Geagea: It’s unfortunate that now that the Arab world is heading towards democracy, Lebanon, which has spearheaded democracy in the region, has taken several steps back through inexplicable practices that resulted in the formation of a government that can be described as a cabinet of out-dated Arab regimes.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:51

Geagea: On this occasion, we can only but announce our sympathy with the Arab people who are seeking freedom and modernity.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:50

Geagea: This is probably the first time that the peoples in the region are united in their demands for freedom, dignity, and freedom.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:49

Geagea: I received hundreds of suggestions for it and after a first and second draft, the LF executive committee approved it in early 2011.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:48

Geagea: I formed a committee to devise the LF by-laws at the end of the period of hegemony and upon my release from prison.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:47

Geagea: The LF by-laws is main factor along this course because they are a modern organizational democratic tool.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:46

Geagea: The LF survived despite all the oppression. It bloomed during the spring of March 14, 2005, and it is now heading along the course of change and democracy through the adoption of its by-laws.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:43

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea during ceremony to adopt LF’s by-laws: Some sides didn’t expect the Lebanese Forces to succeed when it agreed to the national charter and decided to take part in the construction of the state.

  • 28 June 2011, 17:43

Geagea: Some sides believed that an LF without arms would fail, but its positions are stronger than any weapons.

This guy is so superficial. H never said something or predicted something or analyzed something that turned out to be right or even achievable. He just talks and makes the most lame jokes that even Je7a would be embarrassed to repeat. Only one time he was right, and that is when he said: amn al moujtama3 al Hariri wal mafiawi fawqa koul e3tibar

Thumb charbel 28 June 2011, 20:02

@Freddy, Maybe he's always wrong, in your opinion, but at least doesn't changes side as he sees fits. He didn't say he'll be the last to leave, and then left first, even before his wife and daughter. He wasn't the one that said only the government should have weapons, and then now he defends Hizballah's weapons.
He never declared he will fight corruption, and then forgot about Berri, and Miqati and others. Harriri is corrupt no more than Miquati and Berri and others.
Thousands believed him when he fought the Syrians, and died, and now if they see where he takes his instructions from... Nasser Qandil.

He is just like the corrupted Zionist regime, whome their theories are build on illusion and sand land. He better resign politics, because it is outdated.

Samir Geagea OH Sorry , Dr Geagea is the only one left from EX- March 14 , talking , talking and talking in the air without knowing exactly what he is saying and what for he is talking or what he wants ...

Even Saad himself , that is the leader of the so called opposition , is not saying anything since he was ousted from the Grand Serail , by GMA ..

He is only fooling himself , because nobody listens to him anymore , knowing that him and all March 14 are completely OUT , while GMA and HEZB with all the new majority , are INSIDE the Palces of the Republic for a very looooong time this time .

I can't believe this, Geagea is copying GMA. GMA back in 2005 promised to turn the FPM into a proper party unlike all the others with a charter and internal free election in which all members elect the governing body and the directors and members of the regional offices. Never mind GMA reneged on yet another promise, unlike Geagea, GMA actually lied to his supporters again, instead of free elections he fired everybody and appointed all his own people, I guess he agrees with the general consensus that FPM members are sheep who don't understand anything and cannot be trusted with making any decisions. Maybe that's why he's taught them that every time two FPMers meet they should give each others the "L" for loser sign, in fact when they see GMA they give him the "L" with both hands probably because he's twice the loser, double your pleasure double the loser as it were.

NB: What does GMA stand for? Is it a new Dodge? Good morning Abbas? Go mop away? Get my Adidas? Great Muppet Achmed?

Oh, charbel, charbel, charbel. When were you born little child? So Dr. Geagea did not gallop to Syria when Bassel, the son of Hafez, was killed to offer his condolences. Oh, no! And Dr. geagea did not collaborate with the Syrians (his enemies, depending on the situation - No, he didn't change. The Syrians did!!!) against ebn balado at the height of the occupation! Oh, no. Dr. Geagea doesn't change. He wants to remain wrong and let others change! For God's sake, think, charbel.

Tareq Rasso, Geagea also "galloped" to Dbayyeh to offer his condolences to Michel Aoun when his brother Elias died so obviously he's a member of the Tayyar now. At least Geagea was still arguing against Syrian occupation that's why he was arrested two month later on trumped up charges.

When Aoun went to Syria to give his oath of eternal loyalty to the regime he announced from the University of Damascus that regular armies don't execute their captives only militias do. He had forgotten about what the Syrian Army did to his captured soldiers the poor brave ones who were covering his cowardly escape.

Mr Geagea Alshaitan hiding in a woman cloth,
Who killed karam in Amchite, maybe one of your previous bodygaurd, or you trying to play fool you double agent flip floper, just like Hezboshaitan and these war criminals including Aoun and the Syrian regime. The middle east will dump you in a trash bucket of history.

The funny thing about him is that he thinks he is funny. The saddest thing is that his followers think he is funny!

Let me be as clear as possible, i am no way a Geagea supporter. However this man is due some respect because unlike some peoples beloved GMA he stood for what he believed in, he never flip floped his convictions, wether right or wrong. Alot of people say he was a murderer a militia leader. am i missing something? was that not a civil war? do people not kill thier enemies during wars? is the new rage to shower your enemy with roses? everybody in politics today has lebanese blood on their hands, from Berri, to hezb, to gmayel, to franjieh, to aoun etc..etc.. not one of our politicians doesnt, bar Harirri. so lets not bring up the issue of karami, or franjieh, they would have killed Geagea if they could.GMA did leave his soldiers to be slaughtered by the syrians, he did leave his wife and daughter to face dangers (even though hobaia got them out) Geagea could have left, but he went to jail for a cause he believed in. And he still represents a large portion of the christians. like it or not

If we were to ever talk about a flip flopper, GMA would hands down take the award. All you have to do is look at all his speeches in france and in usa. He now trash talks france that saved his life, they should have let the syrians rip him limb from limb, maybe then we would have peace in our land. Aoun has bitten the hand that fed him too many times, and this will all come back to haunt him. in 2005 75% of the christians voted for him based on the "orange book" which stated his "positions" i.e. no weapons, no syria, only government etc..etc.. in 2009 GMA had to take valium when he found out that his christian "approval rating" dropped to about 43% hell he nearly lost his place as an mp, if only for 2,000 votes in keserwen. but alas, to late, he had sold his soul to the devil, and the devil offers no refunds, exchanges, or money back guarentee. in 2013, GMA will lose more votes. If anyoine wants videos of aouns contradictions let me know..or go to youtube. but happt to post links for u

@ Majd
"At least Geagea was still arguing against Syrian occupation that's why he was arrested two month later on trumped up charges."

Your problem, maybe you were too young to remember that no country wanted to harbor Geagea @ that time. Which country could have been affording to get a fachist like him... Saudi Arabia, Never, France ? Never? Israel, like Lahd Maybe...

The others were not as far burned in the front of the international community like him. Remember Amine btw Paris and Washington, Aoun in France, all the christians leaders were exiled. Geagea as a devil just had to remain here.
