March 14 Warns Govt. against Abandoning STL, Slams Policy Statement 'Vague Wording'

The March 14 forces welcomed Thursday the confirmed indictment submitted earlier in the day by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon to the Lebanese authorities, noting that “the event in itself reveals an important side of the truth in the murder of (ex-)PM Rafik Hariri and his companions and all the martyrs.”

The confirmation of the indictment that was submitted to the Lebanese authorities, along with an unspecified number of arrest warrants, is apt to “place Lebanon on the course of justice,” the March 14 general-secretariat said in a statement following an emergency meeting.

The March 14 forces vowed “before the martyrs and all the Lebanese” that they “will remain loyal to the path of independence, sovereignty, freedom, dignity and democracy.”

They also stressed that justice should not be in a confrontation with any Lebanese community, noting that “the rule of justice is targeting individuals, not a certain community.”

On the other hand, the March 14 forces warned the new government against “dereliction in shouldering its responsibilities and commitments to the STL and its rulings,” calling for an “unconditional, direct cooperation concerning the tribunal’s requests, especially regarding the indictment’s requirements.”

“March 14 stresses that the vague wording of the STL clause in the ministerial Policy Statement is rejected and will not succeed in bluffing the tribunal or the international community,” the general-secretariat said in the statement, stressing that “stability can only be protected through justice and a just State.”

Why should anyone care about a farce called the STL? Take it and shove it up your wazoos. Imbecile Saad Hariri is never coming back, wel sama zar2a. And if he dares come back, even to visit, he will be arrested, thrown in jail and tried for high treason and for robbing the Lebanese, like his filthy father Mafioso Rafik did before him.

Miqati wants to say that we are with STL as long as it doesn't create civil strife. Any implication that civil peace and STL are mutually exclusive is a capitulation to Hezbollah. These are code words for hostage taking. The bullies will ensure there is no civil peace unless they get their way.

This whole government is a bad charade and the West knows it.

Miqati will continue his acrobatics to stay PM.

Shame, Lebanese killing Lebanese, no longer can H-A claim that they are working for Lebanon. You are just inching it closer to another civil war, are you proud of yourselves? Just get over yourselves and become a patriotic Lebanese party, stand up and say "neither the Israelis, nor the Iranians, and especially not the Syrians own this land, this is MY land!" you should be angry at all those influencing you to kill your own country. shame. hand them over and save your country further shame.

why shouldnt they simply abandone justice your remarks are typicl of the lazy lebanese attitude, what happened is just the past but when it comes to the arab israeli conflict the lebanese mind cannot simply walk away and forget, if this is what saad hariri wants then thats what should happen, for christ sake it was his own father and he was the prime minister of the post era lebanon, he paid the syrians to allow beirut become a world tourist hub city, the bribes paid were in essence to keep the peace, and the debt accumilated was 50 percent syphoned by the syrian mafia, hariri left lebanon with something tangible, gsm mobile, before 1999 lebanon was at 22 hrs of electricity supply, after israeli onslaught he brought back frieghten investors, he gave lebanon the chance to once be a major hub for economic, cultural, social freedoms, also solidere had to be aggressive in its resructuring of downtown, most cities have a quarter where businesses only exist.. thank hariri beirut reborn

Guys be courteous. You will never convince each others if you use insults and foul language. There is a justice system in place and its mission is to make sure that people abide by the law: It is there to judge criminals and thieves and people are presumed innocent until there is proof of their guilt.
It is outrageous to assume people are innocent of a crime just because they belong to your faith or share your political views. We are in a Republic and everyone is equal in front of the justice. There should be enquiries about the use of public funds and Embezzlement from the days of the end of the French Mandate. How may honest people there? There should be a powerful neutral control system in place that should be allowed to look into every account and to report to the parliament. Notice how many politicians would suggest or support such a commission: None.
Also, assassins need to be brought to Justice and the first positive effect of the STL was when the killings suddenly stopped.
