Report: Govt. Formation Efforts on Hold as Suleiman Takes Short Vacation
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe efforts to form a new government are likely to come to a halt as President Michel Suleiman is scheduled to take a short vacation, reported the pan-Arab daily al-Hayat on Wednesday.
It said that family obligations are forcing him to take the vacation that he had previously canceled in light of the recent security developments in Lebanon.
The president had initially canceled his vacation over the weekend after receiving “worrying information” on the security situation in the country.
He was expected to travel to Saudi Arabia on a brief visit before heading on holiday to Europe.
Thirty people were killed and 336 wounded in a bombing in Beirut's southern suburbs of Dahieh on Thursday.
On Saturday afternoon, security agencies seized a car filled with 250 kilograms of explosives near the municipality building in the Naameh region in southern Lebanon.
At least three people detained by the General Security Directorate confessed that they were planning to detonate the car in an undisclosed location in Lebanon.
Mr.President , with all respect to you , use your decree to dissolve Parliament & hand full power to our LAF ! I must agree you have done your best in a delicate balancing act , but we are getting nowhere ! Anymore of this chaos will send us further into the repeated history of a civil war ! The writing is on the wall , enough is enough , you are a true statesmen , but take one more step forward & accept this ultimate decision for Lebanon's sake !
Signed Wolf !!!!
That is my point my dear friend FT !!
Do you get it now ?
They have stripped ALL our Executive Powers !
But regardless it can still be done with our LAF taking over until such time for a stable country to be formed ! Any country has an invested power to their Military & likewise the Military to it's citizens , that over rides any politicians who are sending their country into chaos ....... It is called a COUP !!!!
Long live the the LAF !!!!
Signed Wolf !!!!........!!!!!!
@wolf
Giving power to the LAF would not help. If anything it will get worse
For me LAF is laugh because our army is powerless and a joke really.
Let's start by building a good army giving it full power and lead by a capable army guy,
First maybe change LAF to LDF (Lebanese defense Forces) that would give it some credibility as a start
coolmec, please divert your attention here, as I think a much needed reassessment of your views regarding the LAF will be catalyzed here:http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?126638-Lebanese-Army-Pictures/page367
It's more than 400 pages of images, official sources, news regarding the LAF and the developments therein. Be persuaded by no politician that our army is incapable, as is the norm of political belittlement for 30+ years. We have MIGs and other airplanes, copters, new tanks and weapons, remingtons, naval forces, paratroopers, and many other impressive arrays of power. The training is also superb and in coordination with many first world powers and the UN. Don't take my word for it though, surf through hundreds of images perfectly encapsulating the army's gravitas and revise your views if you must.
(it's worth to note that their incapacity is due to political restrains and not of another form or nature )
@the so called coolmec,
If our LAF is a joke to YOU then I suggest that you are not a Lebanese !
No offence at all towards you but it's an insult to all our Sons & Daughters' who serve in our security apparatus .
I have said on many occasion that almost every single family in Lebanon ( regardless of background ) have at Least one member in the Armed Services of Lebanon !
If you a respected true Lebanese then you would know that a serving member of our beloved LAF has to carry not only his or her gear that weighs more than 20kg, but more importantly their own blood on their palm of their hand !
They are serving their country well ! Just for a mere amount per month , not like our politicians who do nothing but serving themselves for no less than $20,000 per month !
So go back to your camp or to your stolen land & stop insulting our children serving their country !
Signed Wolf ....!!!!!!!
Until now, Sisi didn't do nothing but killing demonstrators.
He is propably also the one behind churches burning, like Moubarak before him...
The Roar has it in for the President, he has not missed an opportunity to attack him. Dear Roar, does your position regarding our president have anything to do with Aoun not being the president?
