Bellemare: Investigations Still Ongoing, Prosecutor Can Submit Additional Indictments At Any Stage

Special Tribunal for Lebanon Prosecutor Daniel Bellemare has welcomed the June 28 decision of STL’s pre-trial judge to confirm the indictment that he filed regarding the 2005 assassination of ex-PM Rafik Hariri.

“The decision of the Pre-Trial Judge (Daniel Fransen) represents an important milestone as it is the first independent judicial review of the work of the Office of the Prosecutor,” the OTP said in a statement on Friday.

“The confirmation of the indictment is only a second step in the judicial process. The Office of the Prosecutor’s investigations are still ongoing and work continues to be ready for trial. The Prosecutor can submit additional indictments to the Pre-Trial Judge at any stage,” the OTP noted.

The confirmed indictment is the “result of strong teamwork and dedication in the Office of the Prosecutor and countless hours of investigative work,” Bellemare’s office said, adding that “this result could not have been achieved without the support and assistance of the Lebanese authorities.”

“It reflects, above all, the continued commitment of the Lebanese people to put an end to impunity in Lebanon,” the OTP went on to say.

Bellemare also thanked the Lebanese people and the families of the victims for “their patience and hopes that this confirmation will renew their confidence in our resolve to uncover the truth.”

“Bringing the accused to justice will require adherence to the rule of law, the continued cooperation of the Lebanese authorities, and support of the international community,” the OTP stressed.

When there is no evidence, conspiracy theory appears. Moreover, the same piece of evidence can be used by different people to support very different accounts of events.

Is this the thank you party, BON VOYAGE for what have been accomplished?
“Jacques Chirac lines up for court appearance over corruption claims. Former French president to face questions over role in bogus jobs scandal while mayor of Paris in 1990s. A prison term is unlikely, but in theory Chirac risks 10 years in jail and a fine of €150,000” (March 2011)
Hariri father was the conflict resolution tool used by European orchestra to re-establish its mission in the region. He brought democratic principles, 2 party systems (opposition); he creates the myth of Future.
But unfortunate, those who brought him in power failed to stop him, and they had to leave the politics arena because of the same democratic values

But of course. The farce must continue just for fun and false hopes of the losers and corruptors who shall soon be dragged to the guillotine for fleecing the Lebanese and collaborating with Israel. Finally, Lebanon's Spring has become achievable.

This false tribunal has convicted itself by execution till death .

All who are behind this conspiracy, false witnesses, figuers who trade with case gaining huge amount, soon will be discovered; but the most important thing is that who cover them and trading with them have to give an answer to all the people of Lebanon; cause they are betraying thier country in favor of the zionists.

Those who criticize the tribunal without seeing the evidence demonstrate their lack of understanding of how justice works. They simply parrot back what they hear from the terrorist who lives in a dark bunker in Dahieh.

Any one who really thinks that the western prosecutors who were in charge of this investigation and western Judges who will be assigned if a trial will ever exist will be "fair" and "independent" need to have their heads examined. These prosecutors and Judges represent western governments who support Israeli apartheid...the same "democratic" governments and societies up to the early 1990's, considered Nelson Mandela and ALL members of the African national Union members as Terrorists and supported the imprisonment of nelson Mandela for 27 years.
Why was Nelson Mandela considered a terrorist...because he resisted Apartheid off course.

I am not necessarily saying that the prosecutors were working for Israel and the western racist states, but they are close allies. They are NOT independent or fair!

could you be clearer jabal amel?

are you saying that those who are against hezbollah are sionists?

explain your point please!

Missing peace 02 July 2011, 14:35

let us remind some people here that a tribunal produces evidence when the court is in session not before! so it is totally normal that no one has seen them!

let us remind them that towel head said he had evidence against israel... we are still waiting for them!
why doesn t he show his evidence that will innocent hezbollah?

2 explanations: whether he has NOTHING or he wants as usual to play the poor innocent victim of an international plot against him...

i think he has nothing otherwise he would jump on that opportunity to show the world that israel is the culprit!

but we are used to his empty talks... remember the missiles baad haifa wa baad baad haifa? still waiting for them!

The STL has been and will remain ongoing IN THE NEWS MEDIA only and in the empty heads of the hopeless losers in Lebanon. At the same time, the cleansing of Lebanon from Hariri Mafia and its Christian Sunnis will be ongoing till kingdom come. Finally, Lebanon's long awaited Spring is becoming a reality. Decent Lebanese, REJOICE.

Peace, do not answer Jabel Amel, for he thinks everyone against Hezbollah's weapons are traitors, zionists, blablabla, as usual, but lets respond fast to him so he can return back to Dahieh :

- Hezbollah is penetrated by Mossad Agents and CIA agents, it is NOT qualified anymore to be a resistance, it could be only for that reason that you should disarm and join the army, because everything from now on will be considered even worse since the ennemy is among you and has the control of your minds and weapons.

- Sayyed Hassouni the great pork of Iran , is not respected since beginning of war 2006, he was all sweaty and scared against Zionists hitting Dahieh, and till today he is hiding in a rathole in sewers deeper than the hell that awaits all of his party and allies.

- Hezbollah is protecting israeli northern border from palestinian threats, so you are not really helping in liberating palestine,

Conclusion : hezbollah is an Iranian creation puppet, serves Zionist plans.

why i need to be more clear? you can be against hezb'allah politicaly, but you cannot, like this shab CIA/MOSSAD creature, call those people thugs, bandits, terrorist, and militia. We know who is our first enemy and we know who liberated us from it (except for some small parts). To spit on that is a treason and it probably comes from CIA/MOSSAD information war departments, and if these people are lebanese, they are traitors. Some people forgot what zionists did not only to the south but on other places, and some people forgot that even right wing christians in civil war got screwed by the same zionists they were allied to. After all that happened, to be against resistance it's a treason.

Missing peace 02 July 2011, 22:22

excuse me jabel amel but i think you are mixing two things. the hezbollah claims to be the lebanese resistance, ok, but it is not somthing exclusive to them!!!
you can be like a majority of lebanese against israel , and they also think israel is an enemy, but at the same time against hezbollah!

they have liberated the south by their heroic struggle, nobody will say no to that. BUT the pb is that now it has become a party that DOES NOT want to obey the state of lebanon. they still think they have the right to launch a war even if the gvt is against...

resistance is not exclusive to shites, but all lebanese are resistants when their country is attacked! but ONLY the army has the right to have and control war weapons! certainly not a party.
hezb hides behind the word resistance to do what they want with the state...
they always have an excuse to keep their arms, now they want to liberate palestine when our country has so many pb to take care of first!!!

Peace... I would suggest that you vote for M14 in the 2013 elections ( the SLA is banned). Democracy is achieved by popular vote.
