She later stressed after holding talks with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Miqati the EU's strong support for Lebanon and all of its authorities against explosions that have targeted Dahieh and Tripoli.
She expressed her deep solidarity with the relatives of the victims of the blasts, offering the union's condolences to Miqati, the residents of Dahieh and Tripoli, and the whole of Lebanon.
The EU backs all efforts exerted by Miqati and other authorities to maintain Lebanon's security, Eichhorst added.
She also emphasized the importance of unity, calling on all sides to reject violent acts.
The ambassador also hoped that more efforts would be exerted in order to form a new government in Lebanon despite the challenges it is facing.
A new government is the solution to maintaining the policy of disassociation and the Baabda Declaration, she remarked.
Forty-five people were killed and at least 800 wounded in twin bombings that targeted the Taqwa and al-Salam mosques in Tripoli on Friday.
On August 15, more than 27 people were killed and 280 injured in a bombing in the Ruwais neighborhood in Dahieh.
