French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday ordered France’s nuclear-powered aircraft carrier to move from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean to help protect allied assets during the ongoing war in the Middle East.

Noting that the war had spread to Lebanon, Macron said the Iran-backed militant Hezbollah group made “the grave mistake of striking Israel” and putting the Lebanese people in danger but warned against Israel launching a ground operation.

French President Emmanuel Macron said Tuesday that the United States and Israel's military operations in Iran were conducted "outside international law", but placed primary blame on the Islamic republic.

"The United States of America and Israel decided to launch military operations, conducted outside international law, which we cannot approve of," said Macron.

Several projectiles were fired from Lebanon towards Israel on Tuesday but a majority of them were intercepted, the Israeli military said, as Israel vowed to attack the Lebanese group Hezbollah until it was disarmed.

"Several projectiles that crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory were identified. Majority of the projectiles were intercepted, and an additional projectile fell in an open area," said a military statement, which specified that sirens had sounded in northern and central Israel.

Israel's military chief on Tuesday said his forces would keep attacking Hezbollah until the Iran-backed Lebanese group was disarmed, as the war in the Middle East raged for a fourth day.

"We are determined to eliminate the threat Hezbollah poses and will not stop until this organization is disarmed," Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir was quoted as saying in a military statement.

The Israeli military on Tuesday announced it would imminently strike buildings in the south Lebanese city of Tyre, home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, saying it was targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and warning residents to leave.

"To the residents of the buildings marked in red on the attached maps and those in the vicinity -- you are positioned in the immediate vicinity of Hezbollah assets," the military's Arabic-language spokesman, Avichay Adraee, posted on X.

US and Israeli strikes pummeled targets across Tehran on Tuesday, as President Donald Trump warned it was "too late" for Iran to seek talks to escape a war now in its fourth day.

Drones and missiles crashed into oil facilities and US embassies in the Gulf as the Islamic republic retaliated, and Israel pushed troops deeper into Lebanon to battle the Tehran-backed militia Hezbollah after it entered the fray.

The United States embassy in Beirut said Tuesday it will remain closed until further notice, as Israel continued its strikes on Lebanon in retaliation for Hezbollah's rocket launches.

"Due to ongoing regional tensions, U.S. Embassy Beirut will be closed until further notice," the embassy said on X on Tuesday, a day after it renewed its call for citizens to leave Lebanon immediately.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that Israel was continuing to pound Iran and vowed to hit Hezbollah with increasing force as the war in the Middle East raged for a fourth day.

"We continue to strike Iran with force. Our pilots are over the skies of Iran and Tehran, and also over the skies of Lebanon. Hezbollah made a very big mistake when it attacked us. We have already responded forcefully, and we will respond with even greater force," Netanyahu said at an air force base in central Israel, according to a statement from his office.

Israel struck a headquarters belonging to the Islamist group Jamaa Islamiya, an ally of Hamas and Hezbollah, in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon on Tuesday, state media reported.

"The Israeli enemy carried out an air raid a short while ago, targeting a headquarters of the Jamaa Islamiya" in the coastal city, state media said.

Hezbollah said it targeted an Israeli tank on the edge of a Lebanese border village on Tuesday, hours after Israel's defense minister ordered his troops to take control of more strategic positions inside Lebanon.

In a statement, the pro-Iran armed group said: "In response to the criminal Israeli aggression... and after monitoring movements by the Israeli enemy army in Tel Nahas on the outskirts of Kfar Kila, our fighters targeted a Merkava tank with appropriate weapons and scored a direct hit."
