U.S. President Donald Trump called Wednesday for Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook to step down, expanding pressure on the central bank after recent criticism of Fed Chair Jerome Powell for not lowering interest rates sooner.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday informed his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin by phone that Turkey would support a process involving "all parties" for peace in Ukraine, the Turkish presidency said.

Iran said Wednesday it was prepared for any new Israeli attack, announcing it has developed missiles with greater capabilities than those used during their recent 12-day war.

A member of Irish rap band Kneecap was due to appear in court on Wednesday charged with a terror offence for allegedly supporting Hezbollah.

Israel's defense minister has approved a plan for the conquest of Gaza City and authorized the call-up of around 60,000 reservists to carry it out, his ministry confirmed on Wednesday.

Kyiv said Tuesday that Russia had returned the bodies of one thousand killed Ukrainian soldiers, as part of previous agreements brokered between the two warring countries.

"Unfortunately, among those repatriated are the bodies of five Ukrainian servicemen who died in captivity," the government agency coordinating the repatriation announced on social media, adding that it would carry out tests to identify the remains delivered from eastern Ukraine and the Kursk region of Russia.
