The San Antonio Spurs completed a first-round sweep of the injury-plagued Los Angeles Lakers with a 103-82 victory in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series Sunday, while the Miami Heat advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals with a 115-101 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Tony Parker scored 23 points and Tim Duncan had 11 points and six rebounds for the second-seeded Spurs, who will face the winner of Denver's series with Golden State in the second round. They'll get plenty of rest after flattening the Lakers, who finished without three regular starters in their first opening-round exit since 2007.

Chicago's Nate Robinson dragged his team back from a 14-point deficit late in regulation time and the Bulls went on to beat the Brooklyn Nets 142-134 in triple overtime on Saturday, taking a 3-1 lead in their NBA first-round playoff series.
The Bulls were trailing 109-95 with less than 4 minutes to go in the fourth quarter when Robinson took over, carrying the hosts to a thrilling victory.

Manchester City responded to the disappointment at conceding the Premier League title to Manchester United by beating West Ham 2-1 on Saturday to strengthen its grip on second place.

Defending champion Maria Sharapova came from behind in the third set to beat Angelique Kerber 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 Saturday and earn a spot in the final of the Porsche Grand Prix.
The top-seeded Russian committed two consecutive double-faults to drop her serve at the start of the decisive set. But Sharapova won the last eight points and clinched the match when her third-seeded German opponent hit a backhand long. Sharapova had wasted a chance to serve out the match in the ninth game after taking a 5-3 lead.

Syrian rebels attacked a sprawling military air base in the country's northwest on Saturday, while in the south opposition forces assaulted a string of army checkpoints and positions, activists said.
The raids follow nearly two weeks of advances by Syrian troops, mostly in the suburbs of the capital, Damascus, and areas near the Lebanese border in the central province of Homs.
