France's final appeals court Wednesday cleared the extradition to Belgium of a French-Algerian man suspected of carrying out a deadly shooting at the Jewish Museum in Brussels.

The decision by the Cour de Cassation was no surprise as Mehdi Nemmouche, 29, had dropped an appeal against his extradition.

A French-Algerian man suspected of carrying out a deadly shooting at the Jewish Museum in Brussels has dropped an appeal against his extradition to Belgium, his lawyer said on Friday.

Mehdi Nemmouche, 29, had filed an appeal against a June ruling that ordered his extradition from France, but his lawyer Apolin Pepiezep said he had decided not to go ahead with the challenge.

A French-Algerian man suspected of carrying out a deadly shooting at the Jewish Museum in Brussels is appealing a court decision to extradite him to Belgium, his lawyer said on Saturday. 

"Mehdi Nemmouche was informed of the decision of the court of appeal in Versailles on Thursday and he filed an appeal notice the same day," lawyer Apolin Pepiezep told Agence France Presse.

French Court Orders Extradition of Jewish Museum Shooting Suspect

A French court on Thursday ordered the extradition to Belgium of a man suspected of carrying out a deadly shooting at the Jewish Museum in Brussels on May 24 that killed four people.

The court in Versailles, west of Paris, said Franco-Algerian Mehdi Nemmouche, 29, who was detained several days after the attack, should be handed over to Belgian authorities for "killings with a terrorist connotation."
