Bad guys turn good in China 'Minions' movie ending

What's small, yellow, loves bananas and promotes the rule of law? A Minion, at least according to an edited version of the latest animated film featuring supervillain Gru and his army of tiny sidekicks being screened in China. 

The fifth instalment of the lucrative "Despicable Me" franchise, "Minions: The Rise of Gru", premiered in China this month, several weeks after the film opened in United States cinemas.

R. Kelly's lawyer gets chance to question government witness

R. Kelly's legal team will get its chance to question the government's star witness on Friday after she testified at his federal trial in Chicago that the R&B singer sexually abused her hundreds of times before she turned 18.

Jane, the pseudonym used for her during the trial, has been central to Kelly's legal troubles for more than two decades. She testified for over four hours for the government Thursday, also telling jurors it was her and Kelly in a videotape that was at the heart of his 2008 child pornography trial, at which he was acquitted.

'Game of Thrones' prequel keeps dragons, adds diversity

The prequel to "Game of Thrones" is set to forge its own storytelling path, with a new set of characters and a more diverse team behind the scenes.

"House of the Dragon" takes place two centuries before the events of the original series, which ended its hit eight-season run in May 2019. The 10-episode prequel begins Sunday on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

Armani, others flee wildfire on Sicilian island retreat

Fashion designer Giorgio Armani and dozens of others were forced to flee from their vacation villas overnight as firefighters worked to extinguish the remnants of two wildfires on the Sicilian island of Pantelleria on Thursday.

A photo shows flames that appear to encroach on Armani's villa, but his press office said they stopped short of the property. Armani and guests evacuated to a boat in the harbor overnight.

Anne Heche dies of crash injuries after life support removed

Anne Heche, the Emmy-winning film and television actor whose dramatic Hollywood rise in the 1990s and accomplished career contrasted with personal chapters of turmoil, died of injuries from a fiery car crash. She was 53.

Heche was "peacefully taken off life support," spokeswoman Holly Baird said in a statement Sunday night.

Anne Heche is on life support after suffering a brain injury in a fiery crash a week ago and her survival isn't expected, according to a statement from a representative.

As Spider-Man turns 60, fans reflect on diverse appeal

Spider-Man fandom is in Tyler Scott Hoover's blood — but not because he was bitten by an irradiated arachnid. His father had collected Marvel comic books featuring the character since the 1970s.

"He passed down a ton of comics to me," says Hoover, 32, of Glen Burnie, Maryland. "It kind of makes it almost like a religion. It would have been hard for me not to become a fan of Spider-Man."
