Hollywood's Weinsteins Reunite with Miramax

Hollywood power players Bob and Harvey Weinstein are reuniting with Miramax, the company they founded in 1979 but sold to Disney, in a joint production and distribution deal, they announced Monday.

The multi-year deal will include film, television and live stage projects based on hit Miramax films like "Shakespeare in Love" and "Swingers," as well as TV series based on titles such as "Good Will Hunting."

Chris Brown's Probation Revoked over U.S. Arrest

A judge on Monday revoked Chris Brown's probation after his recent arrest on suspicion of misdemeanor assault in Washington, D.C., but the ruling will not alter the singer's requirements to complete rehab and community labor for his 2009 attack on Rihanna.

Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin cited details contained in an arrest report as his reason for revoking Brown's probation for the second time this year. He ordered Brown to return to court Feb. 10 for an update on his progress in rehab.

Beyonce Sells 617,000 Albums in 3 Days on iTunes

Beyonce's surprise album has sold surprisingly well: Her fifth solo effort sold more than 600,000 units in its first three days, setting a record for first-week domestic digital sales.

Beyonce's self-titled album was released early Friday morning exclusively on iTunes unbeknownst to the public. Apple said Monday that the album sold 617,213 in its U.S. iTunes Store. It sold 828,773 internationally.

“Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” couldn’t have come at a more opportune time. Released just one week before the passing of Nelson Mandela, the film is based on his autobiography, titled “Long Walk to Freedom.” While it’s certainly a valiant effort, the film is ultimately too straight-forward and conventional to really break-out, but it’s bolstered by captivating performances by Idris Elba and Naomie Harris.

'Lawrence of Arabia' Star Peter O'Toole Dies Aged 81

Irish actor Peter O'Toole, the star of the 1962 Oscar-winning epic "Lawrence of Arabia," has died aged 81, his agent Steve Kenis said Sunday.

The hell-raising icon of stage and screen died on Saturday at London's Wellington hospital after a long illness, Kenis explained.

Cameron to Film Three Avatar Sequels in New Zealand

Director James Cameron announced Monday he will film three sequels to the record-breaking sci-fi blockbuster "Avatar" in New Zealand after striking a deal with the government for increased production subsidies.

Cameron said the movies, with a combined minimum budget of at least NZ$500 million (U.S.$415 million), will be shot back-to-back with each sequel released every 12 months from late 2016.

Hollywood Picks up 1970s Pickup Classic

Hollywood has picked up "How to Pick Up Girls!" -- the men's paperback self-help classic from the 1970s that went on to become a sacred text of the Internet-driven "seduction community."

In a statement Friday, Los Angeles sales and distribution house The Exchange said it has optioned Eric Weber's book with the goal of producing a feature film.

Khloe Kardashian Files for Divorce from Lamar Odom

After months of speculation, Khloe Kardashian is ending her four-year marriage to Lamar Odom.

The reality TV star filed for divorce Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences. She also wants her last name restored to Kardashian from Kardashian Odom.
