Two U.S. Republican lawmakers want to know if popular American pop star Beyonce and her husband, rap singer Jay-Z, had the U.S. government's permission to travel to Cuba despite an economic embargo.

Representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida on Friday sent a letter to Adam Szubin, director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control at the U.S. Treasury Department, requesting information on the type of license Beyonce and Jay-Z received before traveling to Cuba.

Jose Juan Bigas Luna, a Spanish director and screenwriter who gave Penelope Cruz her first big screen break, has died aged 67 after a long struggle with cancer, Spanish media reported Saturday.

Bigas Luna, as he was simply known, directed more than a dozen films over his 35-year career.

British rock musician Mark Knopfler has cancelled his Russian tour dates to protest against raids by Russian authorities on human rights groups.

"Given the crackdown by Russian authorities on groups including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, I have regretfully decided to cancel my upcoming concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg in June," he said in a statement published on his website late Thursday.

Halle Berry is pregnant. A rep for "The Call" actress confirmed to Huffington Post Celebrity that Berry, 46, is expecting her second child with her fiancé, French actor Olivier Martinez, 47.

The pair -- who are celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary -- visited historical landmarks in the heart of Old Havana, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. They snapped pictures and spoke with local residents.
