Bond Star Visits British Troops in Afghanistan

James Bond actor Daniel Craig on Sunday surprised British servicemen at the Camp Bastion base in Afghanistan when he dropped in for a visit shortly before a screening of his new film "Skyfall".

Craig introduced the film to the 800 troops and then toured the camp, met soldiers and hospital patients before firing off some machine-gun rounds at the heavy weapons range, a Ministry of Defense statement said.

The final chapter of the blockbuster "Twilight" vampire film franchise earned some $138 million in its debut, taking a huge bite out of weekend movie ticket sales, industry estimates showed Sunday.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2," is the fifth and final installment of the wildly popular series based on novels by Stephenie Meyer. The previous four films, starting with the 2008 series opener "Twilight," earned a colossal $2.4 billion altogether.

Charlie Chaplin Hat and Cane Net More Than $62,000

Charlie Chaplin's iconic bowler hat and cane were auctioned off for $62,500 this weekend, as part of an auction which also includes a John Lennon nude drawing of himself and Yoko Ono.

The hat and cane, trademark of Chaplin's Little Tramp character, were in "remarkable condition" and had been estimated to go for between $40,000 and $60,000 at the sale by auction house Bonhams on Sunday. But when it went under the hammer, the sale price hit $62,500 the auctioneers said.
