Movies as sweet as “Philomena” don’t come along all too often. The film, which is based on a true story, is anchored by a marvelous and Oscar-worthy turn by the incomparable Dame Judi Dench, and will send you out of the theater feeling quite emotional. It’s a beautiful story of faith, motherhood, and unconditional love, and I absolutely loved it.

David O. Russell's "American Hustle" took the Screen Actors Guild Awards' top honor for outstanding cast on Saturday night, beating out Steve McQueen's acclaimed "12 Years a Slave." Because actors make up the largest branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the SAG Awards (which last year picked "Argo") are considered one of the best indicators of the Oscars.

Hollywood movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has warned the National Rifle Association (NRA) he plans to make a movie with Meryl Streep that will make them "wish they weren't alive."
The NRA did not immediately respond Thursday to the warning, made in an interview on shock-jock Howard Stern's show, in which Weinstein said he hoped to turn cinema goers against the gun lobby.
