Iran Says Major Powers Must Make New Nuclear Proposals

Iran on Sunday called for fresh proposals from the major powers in talks on its nuclear program set to resume next week, the first since the election of moderate President Hassan Rouhani.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the previous offer, made by the P5+1 group at two meetings in Kazakhstan in February and April, before Rouhani's June election, was no longer valid.

Iran Arrests 4 in Nuclear Plant 'Sabotage Plot'

Iran has arrested four people suspected of attempting to sabotage one of its nuclear plants, Atomic Energy Organization chief Ali Akbar Salehi said on Sunday.

"Some time ago, we uncovered sabotage activities by several people at a nuclear plant," Salehi said in comments carried by the Mehr news agency.

Poll Shows Most Israelis Support Iran Strike

A majority of Israelis would support unilateral military action against Iran, according to a poll published Friday after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his government was ready to act alone.

Some 65.6 percent of 500 Jewish Israelis surveyed by the pro-government Israel HaYom newspaper said they would support military strikes to halt Iran's nuclear program, and 84 percent believed the Islamic republic had no intention of reining in its alleged drive to build a bomb.
