Iran Urges Full 'Rights' Recognition ahead of Nuclear Talks

Iran will allay international concerns over its disputed nuclear drive provided its "rights" are fully recognized ahead of a major meeting with world powers next week, its foreign ministry said on Monday.

"For the negotiations to swiftly bear fruit, they should recognize our rights and we will remove the concerns based on a formula agreed by both sides," the Mehr news agency quoted foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast as saying.

Bahrain's interior minister said police have arrested eight members of an alleged terrorist cell linked to Iran and Lebanon following widespread clashes in the Gulf nation during protests marking the second anniversary of an Arab Spring-inspired uprising.

A statement Sunday on the ministry's website said the suspected terror network received training and financial support from Iran, Iraq and Lebanon — references to Iranian-backed Shiite groups such as Hizbullah and others.

Miqati Says Government 'Respects' Sovereignty of Gulf States

Prime Minister Najib Miqati stressed on Saturday that the Lebanese government respects the sovereignty of all countries, in particular, the Arab states.

French Defense Minister Urges Syria Power Transfer

The chief U.N. atomic inspector said Thursday that talks with Iran had failed again to reach a deal on agreeing enhanced inspections of Tehran's nuclear program, and that no new meeting had been set.

"We had discussions on the structured approach document but could not finalize the document," Herman Nackaerts of the International Atomic Energy Agency told reporters at Vienna airport after returning from Tehran.

Iran Dissidents Say Khamenei Ordered Attack on Iraq Camp

The Iranian dissident group MEK on Wednesday accused Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei of ordering a deadly attack on its camp in Iraq and said the Iraqi government facilitated the assault.

Bulgaria Tells Europol Names of 2 Alleged Hizbullah Bombing Suspects 

Bulgaria has given Europol the names of two of the people suspected in a bus bombing that killed five Israeli tourists last year, with hopes that the police agency can trace their movements and uncover how they financed the attack, the country's interior minister said.

The European country also has requested that Lebanese authorities arrest and extradite the two suspects, who are allegedly Hizbullah members and believed to be living in Lebanon, an official said.

Iran Hints Military Site Access if Overall Deal with IAEA

Iran hinted Tuesday that inspection of the Parchin military site by the International Atomic Energy Agency would be possible in the context of a "comprehensive agreement" that recognizes its right to peaceful nuclear energy.
