U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman is expected to introduce a resolution that would urge the European Union to label Hizbullah a terrorist organization, the Jerusalem Post reported.
The draft resolution by the Connecticut Independent calls on European countries as well as the EU to designate Hizbullah as a terrorist group and asks the Obama administration to provide information about the party to its European allies, the newspaper said.

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel revealed that Prime Minister Najib Miqati will hold a meeting with top security officials on Wednesday to discuss information about assassination plots against personalities from the opposition coalition.
Charbel told al-Akhbar newspaper published on Tuesday that the officials will discuss “ways to guarantee protection” for some March 14 lawmakers and personalities after they urged security agencies for action.

Member of the al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc Bahia Hariri confirmed on Tuesday that the Arab world is looking forward to see justice achieved for the Palestinian people, the state-run National News Agency said.
During her visit to the Gaza Strip on Monday in a show of solidarity, Hariri said: “The entire Arab world is eager to see justice achieved for the Palestinians. They look forward to see them regain their land and establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.”
Prime Minister Najib Miqati denied on Tuesday a rift among cabinet ministers on the sources of revenues for the controversial salary scale of the public sector.
In remarks to As Safir daily, Miqati said the government was dealing with “high responsibility” with the issue to avoid any negative effect on the country's economy.

Marada Movement leader MP Suleiman Franjieh on Monday said he would support the rise of a new “secular” regime in Syria, accusing the Christians of the March 14 coalition of betting on the partitioning of the neighboring country and subsequently of Lebanon.
“We have never supported the alliance of minorities, but some March 14 Christians are betting on the partitioning of Syria although that would hurt the minorities,” Franjieh warned during an interview on MTV.

President Michel Suleiman hailed on Monday as successful a security plan implemented by the Lebanese Army in the northern city of Tripoli as Prime Minister Najib Miqati hoped the situation there would remain under control following a week of deadly gunbatttles.
“The implementation of the security plan drawn by security officials began yesterday (Sunday) and it seems that it has so far given a positive effect,” Suleiman told a cabinet session held at Baabda palace.
