Gemayel Warns against Delaying Elections, Urges Parties to Shoulder Their Responsibilities

Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel on Monday warned that the situation in the country will deteriorate should the June parliamentary elections be delayed.

Cautiousness in Wadi Khaled as Army Prepares Report on Border Incident

A cautious atmosphere is surrounding the northern village of Wadi Khaled as al-Hishe town residents are still mourning the death of Ahmed Shehab and Mohammed Hussein Azou, the National News Agency reported on Monday.

STL Judges Approve Amendments to Rules of Procedure and Evidence

The judges of the U.N.-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon have approved some amendments to the tribunal's Rules of Procedure and Evidence which “clarify and improve the existing rules” and “speed up proceedings."

“At a Plenary meeting, the Judges of the STL have approved some amendments to the Tribunal's Rules of Procedure and Evidence,” the STL said in a statement on Monday.

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat stated on Monday that Syria's war is more significant than the different Lebanese political factions, urging the neighboring country's opposition “not to fall in the trap of cutting all communication with Russia”.

Head of the criminal court of cassation Judge Joseph Samaha stepped down from ex-Minister Michel Samaha Case over a family relationship, the state-run National News Agency reported on Monday.
