France’s foreign ministry on Sunday condemned the rocket strike on the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights, which killed 12 people, and urged belligerents to avoid escalation.

"France condemns in the strongest terms the particularly fatal attack on the Druze town of Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights," the ministry said, calling for "everything to be done to avoid a new military escalation."

Netanyahu returns from US, heads for security meeting after Golan strike

Blinken says 'every indication' Golan rocket fired by Hezbollah

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Sunday that there was "every indication" that Hezbollah was behind a rocket strike in the Israel-annexed Golan Heights that killed 12 young people.

Rocket kills 10 civilians in Israeli-annexed Golan, Hezbollah denies responsibility

Israel's emergency medical service said at least 10 people were killed in the annexed Golan Heights on Saturday by a barrage of rockets fired from Lebanon.

The 10 were killed when a rocket hit a football pitch in the Arab town of Majdal Shams, where many residents retain Syrian nationality decades after the territory's occupation in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war, Magen David Adom said.
