Israel Freezes Ramadan Permits for Palestinians after Shooting

Israel said Thursday it had suspended entry permits for 83,000 Palestinians during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan following a shooting in Tel Aviv that killed four people.

"All permits for Ramadan, especially permits for family visits from Judea and Samaria to Israel, are frozen," said a statement from COGAT, the unit which manages civilian affairs in the occupied West Bank.

The defendants are accused of building "a worldwide network of fraud based in Israel," with apartments, technological equipment and European bank accounts, the justice ministry said.

Iraqi government forces fighting to retake Fallujah from the Islamic State group seized a southern neighborhood of the city on Wednesday, officials said.

At Least 15 Civilians Dead in Raids on Syria's Aleppo

Syrian government air strikes on rebel-held neighborhoods of divided second city Aleppo killed at least 15 civilians on Wednesday, a monitor said.

Commander Says Fallujah Liberation 'Days' away
