British FM in Israel Wednesday to Explain Iran Deal

British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said he was heading to Israel later Wednesday to explain the Iran nuclear deal in person and voiced hope Britain could reopen its embassy in Tehran this year.

Briefing parliament about the agreement unveiled on Tuesday, Hammond said he would speak to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday "to convey our message about this deal directly".

More than 50 IS Child Soldiers Killed in Syria in 2015

More than 50 child soldiers recruited by the Islamic State group in Syria have been killed since the beginning of this year, a monitoring group said Wednesday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said it had documented the deaths of 52 child soldiers, all under the age of 16, who had been part of IS's "Cubs of the Caliphate" program.

Egypt Army Says Foils Suicide Attack against Army Outpost

Egypt's military said Wednesday its troops foiled a suicide car bomb attack targeting an army outpost on a highway between Cairo and the canal city of Suez.

Media: Kuwait Seeks 11 Death Terms over Mosque Bombing

Kuwait's public prosecution has demanded the death penalty for 11 of 29 suspects charged over the suicide bombing of a Shiite mosque last month, a newspaper reported Wednesday.

Al-Qabas, citing informed sources, said two of the suspects are currently fighting with the Islamic State jihadist group which claimed the attack.

A man was killed trying to plant a bomb targeting police in a Shiite village near the Bahraini capital, the interior ministry said on Wednesday.

The ministry, on its Twitter account, said the failed attack took place in the village of Ekr but it did not identify the man killed.

General Says U.S. Does Not Support Kurdish Entity in Syria

The United States does not support the establishment of an autonomous Kurdish entity in northern Syria, the U.S. special envoy for the coalition against Islamic State extremists said Tuesday.

Kurdish fighters have made gains in war-torn Syria against the Islamic State (IS) group, notably in land close to the border in the north with Turkey, triggering concern in Ankara that the Kurds might attempt to establish their own state in Syria.
