Syrian plane lands in base after Damascus airport attack

A flight by private Syrian airline Cham Wings landed on Tuesday at an airport used by Russia's military in the coastal province of Latakia in western Syria, the country's state news agency reported.

The flight from the city of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates was the first to land in at the airbase since Damascus airport was damaged by an Israeli airstrike earlier this month.

Saudi crown prince visits Egypt ahead of Biden Mideast trip

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has arrived in Cairo on the first leg of a Middle East tour that comes ahead of U.S. President Joe Biden's trip to the region next month.

President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi of Egypt received bin Salman at the airport, a courtesy to the de-facto leader who is a steady financial backer of the Egyptian government, according to the Egyptian presidency.

Rival Libyan factions failed to reach an agreement after wrapping up a third round of U.N.-mediated talks in Egypt, the United Nations said Monday, further complicating international efforts to find a way out of the country's decade-old chaos.

Syrian leader receives credentials from Bahrain ambassador

Israeli forces kill Palestinian near separation barrier

Israeli forces have shot and killed a Palestinian man, the Palestinian Health Ministry said, after the Israeli military said he tried to illegally cross the separation barrier that divides Israel and the occupied West Bank.

In a statement, the military said soldiers saw the man "sabotaging" the barrier outside the West Bank city of Qalqilya and "attempting to illegally cross into Israeli territory." Forces opened fire to get him to stop and shot him, the statement said.
