Reports: US promises Gaza truce if Iran, Hezbollah don't retaliate

A proposal has been made to the Iran-led axis in the region, promising that the efforts to reach a Gaza truce will be expedited if Iran and Hezbollah choose not to retaliate against Israel over the recent assassinations, an informed source told Kuwait’s al-Anbaa newspaper.

Lebanon’s al-Liwaa newspaper for its part said that “the U.S. is leading serious negotiations” in this regard.

Israel says to revoke diplomatic status of Norwegian envoys to Palestinian Authority

Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz said Thursday the diplomatic status of Norwegian envoys to the Palestinian Authority would be revoked over Oslo's "anti-Israel behavior" since the Gaza war began in October.

"I ordered the termination of any representation on behalf of the Norwegian Embassy in Israel vis-a-vis the Palestinian Authority", Katz said in a statement, adding that "there is a price for anti-Israel behavior".

Egypt tells airlines to avoid Iran airspace for 3 hours on Thursday

As tensions between Israel and Iran escalate, Egypt has issued a safety notice warning all of its carriers to avoid Iranian air space for a three-hour window early Thursday.

A NOTAM, or notice to air missions, that was posted for pilots Wednesday states that all Egyptian carriers should avoid Tehran’s Flight Information Region and that "no flight plan will be accepted overflying such territory" between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. GMT Thursday morning.

10 dead in car bombing at north Syria checkpoint

Ten people including at least four fighters were killed Wednesday when a bomb-laden truck exploded at a checkpoint in Syria's Turkish-controlled northern city of Azaz, a war monitor said.

Macron calls Netanyahu in bid to prevent all-out war with Hezbollah

French President Emmanuel Macron has told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to "avoid a cycle of reprisals" in the Middle East, his office said, as fears of a regional war soar.

After earlier telling his Iranian counterpart to "avoid a cycle of reprisals that would put the populations and stability of the region at risk", Macron urged Netanyahu in a telephone call on Wednesday to adopt the same reasoning, the French presidency said in a statement.
