Prime Minister Saad Hariri on Tuesday called for the adoption of resolutions that would ensure wider participation of women in political and public life and praised the role played by women ministers in the current government.

Religious and spiritual leaders in Lebanon held a summit on Tuesday at the Druze Council headquarters in Beirut at the invitation of Druze spiritual leader Sheikh Naim Hassan.
The National News Agency said participants in the Christian-Muslim summit included Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi, Grand Mufti of the Republic Abdul Latif Daryan, Vice Head of the Islamic Supreme Shiite Council Sheikh Ali Khatib and Grand Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmed Qabalan beside other religious heads.

Prime Minister Saad Hariri held talks Monday with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain el-Tineh, amid continuous efforts to find a solution for the political crisis sparked by the Qabrshmoun incident.
Hariri left without making a statement but the National News Agency said talks tackled the governmental situation and the continued efforts to resolve the deadlock.

The Episcopal Media Committee, the Maronite church’s media watchdog, on Monday urged authorities to ban a controversial concert for the renowned Lebanese rock band Mashrou' Leila.
The call followed a meeting for the committee at the Catholic Media Center that was presided over by Bishop Boulos Matar and attended by Maronite Archbishop of Byblos Michel Aoun and the members of the committee.

The relation between President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Saad Hariri “is excellent and there are understandings and permanent communication,” MP Mario Aoun of the Strong Lebanon bloc said on Monday.
“The president will sign the state budget decree,” he added, in an interview with Radio Voice of Lebanon (93.3).

Lebanese Democratic Party leader Talal Arslan on Monday announced that he will not accept any mediation initiative regarding the deadly Qabrshmoun incident.
“The ball is not in our court and I’m done with initiatives,” Arslan said at a press conference, adding that State Minister for Refugee Affairs Saleh al-Gharib will not take part in any cabinet session that does not tackle the case.
