Israel Removes Spy Cam Planted on Lebanon Border

Israeli forces removed on Wednesday a spy device they planted earlier in an area in the southern neighborhood of Kroum al-Sharqi, the National News Agency reported on Wednesday.

An Israeli infantry patrol approached the location and removed the device amid heavy military presence in the region, NNA said.

Cautious calm prevailed Wednesday night in the densely-packed Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Hilweh, after one week of deadly clashes between the Fatah Movement and Islamist groups that left one civilian dead and six others injured.

The ceasefire agreement, reached at around 7 pm on Tuesday, still stands except for a personal dispute that erupted after midnight in al-Tahtani street leaving one person injured, the National News Agency reported on Wednesday.

New Ceasefire in Ain el-Hilweh after 1 Killed, 6 Wounded

One civilian was killed and six were wounded on Tuesday in fierce clashes that rocked Lebanon's largest Palestinian refugee camp for the sixth day before a ceasefire started to take hold in the evening.

State-run National News Agency said the ceasefire got underway around 7:00 pm in Ain el-Hilweh after "all parties pledged to the committee that was formed at Palestine's embassy that they will abide by the truce."

In light of Lebanon's inability to agree on a number of issues that guarantee a smooth political activity after the election of President Michel Aoun, reports said that Gulf and International countries are dissatisfied with Lebanon's policy mainly with regard to international resolutions, decisions related to the Syrian regime and positions related to Hizbullah and its arms, media reports said on Tuesday.

Lebanon's Southern Residents Protest Israeli Incursions

Protesting Israel's recurrent violation against Lebanon's southern territories, residents of the border town of Mays al-Jabal staged a sit-in in the presence of MP Qassem Hashem and a number of journalists, the state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday.

NNA said that Israeli troops had fired tear gas bombs in the direction of the campaigners to disperse them which led to several cases of suffocation.
