Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour traveled to Moscow on Tuesday to attend the Arab-Russian Forum and hold talks with Russian officials on the situation in Syria.

In remarks carried by the state-run National News Agency, Mansour said the foreign ministers of Egypt, Iraq and Kuwait, and the Arab League chief will attend the forum.

A woman in the U.S. state of Texas has killed her adopted Russian son, the Kremlin's envoy for children said Monday, outlining the latest alleged abuse of an adopted Russian child by American parents.

"A three-year-old Russian child has been murdered by his adoptive mother in the state of Texas," ombudsman Pavel Astakhov said on his office's Twitter feed @Rfdeti.

Jordan's King Abdullah II visits Moscow on Tuesday for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Syrian conflict, the palace said on Monday.

"The king will visit Moscow on Tuesday to discuss with the Russian president the latest developments in Syria," it said in a brief statement on Monday.

Finnish customs said Friday they had seized military equipment en route from Russia to Syria on board a Finnish ship docked at Helsinki's Vuosaari port in January.

During an inspection of the ship, customs officials discovered spare parts for tanks in a container on board the M/S Finnsun, Finnish Customs said in a statement.

A section of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine has collapsed under the weight of snow but there were no injuries or any increase in radiation from the reactor that exploded in 1986, the country's emergency agency said Wednesday.

"The preliminary reason for the collapse was too much snow on the roof," the agency said, adding that the radiation situation is "within the norm" and nobody was harmed in Tuesday's incident.

Russia has delivered a consignment of firearms to the Mali government which is fighting rebels and is in talks about supplying more, the head of Russia's arms export agency said Wednesday.

"We have delivered firearms. Literally two weeks ago another consignment was sent. These are completely legal deliveries," Rosobornexport chief Anatoly Isaikin said, quoted by the Interfax news agency. "We are in talks about sending more, in small quantities."
