Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea condemned on Friday the Baabda rockets that were fired late on Thursday, lauding President Michel Suleiman's stances on Army Day.

He said in a statement: “I never once imagined that the president could be targeted by Lebanese powers.”

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Friday vowed that the LF will continue to search for the Lebanese detainees who “went missing” in Syrian prisons, noting that “there are millions of captives in Lebanon" and accusing Hizbullah of putting the fate of the Lebanese people in danger.

“The detainees in the prisons of the Syrian regime were used for political ends and I ask everyone to be confident that we will carry on with our efforts to release them,” Geagea said at a seminar in Maarab on the Lebanese detainees in Syrian prisons.

A meeting held on Sunday between former Prime Minister Saad Hariri and a delegation from al-Mustaqbal movement addressed the on going crises in Lebanon, local newspapers reported on Monday.

According to al-Joumhouria newspaper, discussions with the delegation, which is comprised of ex-PM Fouad Saniora and MPs Ahmed Fatfat and Nohad al-Mashnouq, focused on the formation of the cabinet and the resumption of the national dialogue.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea criticized on Saturday Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's speech, lashing out at his announcement that he's willing to engage in the national dialogue.

“How dare Nasrallah call for dialogue a year after the Baabda declaration was unanimously by all sides,” Geagea said in a statement issued by his press office.

He said: “We are fed up with lies. Those who claim to love the army should lay down their illegitimate weapons.”

Jean Qahwaji, and accused Hizbullah party of taking unilateral strategic decisions, the As-Safir daily reported.

“Hizbullah party takes unilateral strategic decisions, which they later burden us with and ask for a cover through a political cabinet,” said Geagea.

Bkirki is seeking to hold a meeting to gather key Christian leaders to tackle the latest developments in Lebanon, al-Joumhouria newspaper reported on Tuesday.

According to the newspaper, Bkirki is trying to ensure that Phalange party leader Amin Gemayel, Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun, Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and head of Marada Movement MP Suleiman Franjieh attend the meeting.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea expressed on Monday the March 14 alliance's readiness not to participate in the new cabinet's line-up so that it wouldn't be accused of obstructing the formation process.

“Despite it's not fair but our coalition is ready to remain out of the new government like Hizbullah,” Geagea said in comments published in As Safir newspaper.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea condemned on Friday any terrorist act that aims at destabilizing the country, considering that Bir al-Abed neighborhood's blast is linked to Hizbullah's intervention in the conflict in the neighboring country Syria.

“We will have to confront a more dangerous situation if the party hold on to the its policies,” Geagea said in an interview with al-Liwaa newspaper.

Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam resumed consultations on Thursday to form a new cabinet after a short standstill over disputes among the political foes.

A delegation from al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc held talks with Salam. The delegation included MPs Atef Majdalani, Bassem al-Shab and Riad Rahhal.
