berri is not an angel, for sure, but he never had state budgets to "loot". as speaker, he has no funds allocated to divert. his method was more to have a "hand" and a "share" in almost all projects involving the south. i'm not defending it, or saying it's right, but it is in no way comparable to what others, who had positions in ministries, and were entrusted public funds, did when they embezzled funds.
you see it as an invitation, when it is a deterrence. israel never needed an invitation to attack or bomb us, what they need is to have a force in their face big enough to scare them off.
whining about the drone while israel, AS THEY SPEAK, is crossing the border and staging mock raids above lebanese cities, is pathetic and despicable.

when you want to protest peacefully you find a way. in tunis the protests were peaceful, in egypt they were too, back in the days ghandi succeeded through pacifism, in bahrein the protests have been going on for over a year and despite the beating, torture and killing, are still peaceful.
when you have discontent in a country, whoever sends in weapons and mercenaries and finances violence does not want the good of the country, rather they want to see it burn and sink into chaos.
