justlebanese: before calling people retarded, try to look at yourself in the mirror. the problem in lebanon is that sectarian mentality prevails for most individuals. if you let a public institution become overwhelmingly from one sect, then we all lose that institution as a "neutral" public service: it becomes one sect's "private" property.
therefore, as long as lebanese think this way, and despite being myself an atheist, i think the only way to ensure public institutions remain public, they must reflect the country's "mixity".

regarding the matter at hand however, no i do not think israelis have spontaneously and suddenly decided to leave us alone, after decades of aggression, threat, theft and oppression. the ONLY reason why these belong to the past is the resistance (not just by hezbollah but by all true lebanese patriots from all sects) and the dissuasion power.
