I agree with the Shalit activitsts, there must be a balance:

Hamas should raid tens of israeli homes everyday, make tens of daily arbitrary arrests, including 8 year-olds, shoot some randomly when they work on their fields, build giant prisons to keep thousands of them there for undetermined periods, and hold a siege around all of israel to starve them for years and years.

Then there would be balance.

Danny, if life is so beautiful under Israeli government, tell me then why does Israel refuse the right of return to Palestinians? Why is Lieberman, and many of the right-winged Israeli government, considering the expulsion of the Arab Israelis?

The right of return was voted by the UN and was implicitly accepted by Israel when Israel joined the UN, yet it was never granted to those Palestinians. Maybe you shed a tear for them, but this wont help them much if no concrete action is taken.

Also, the occupation, the daily humiliations, the dire life conditions, the pursuit of colonization (which is illegal under international law) and the monopoly over water resources may explain why some Palestinians prefer to remain in any other country, which is obviously the desired consequence of the Israeli strategy of making life impossible for Palestinians.

Finally, do you know of any people who would accept the creation of another country on their land? The Palestinians had no choice but fight.

Oh and regarding the percentage of Arab territory, this is completely absurd and meaningless.

For the people who had been living there and were kicked out, millions of them, it is 100% of everything they ever owned that they lost, and too often this included their parents, children, friends and their own lives.

This way that you Israelis have of denying and refusing to see the damage and suffering you inflict, is really, really heartless and inconsiderate of others, so don't tell me about Arab mercy.

They also had American support, especially in weapons (B17 bombers, M4 Shermans and C-47s amongst others)
