agree that ksa is the mother of terrorism but assad's regime too, has unleashed terror in lebanon. yes, ksa exceeds syria's terrorism, both are barbaric, disgusting, filthy regimes.
Michel Aoun 2003 “In the 1970s and 1980s, Lebanon was the first victim of Syrian terrorism. And this was one of the main reasons in 1978 to list Syria as the first terrorist country on the US State Department list of terrorist states. Back then, Hizbullah and Hamas did not even exist.”
Aoun ridiculed those calling on the Syria regime to dismantle what he called terrorist organizations, saying that they have reached “the height of naivete and folly.
“Furthermore, let’s not forget that the clandestine nature of these regimes and organizations would allow them to quickly and easily restructure and re-emerge under completely new aliases, ready to resume operations in full capacity,” he warned the US that Syria’s cooperation in the “war on terror” did not represent a strategic choice on the part of Damascus to combat terrorism. “It is only a tactical and temporary ploy to dodge responsibility for the central role that Syria has had in sponsoring terrorism during the last three decades.”
True in 2004,Syria was an occupying force in Lebanon and had refused to recognise the existence of the Republic of Lebanon.Syria had never had an embassy in Lebanon until after they finally left following the assassination of martyr Hariri.Following their withdrawal and the establishment of an embassy that finally formally recognises that syria and lebanon are 2 independent countries, we the lebanese should have the best relations with our neighbour. Before Afez el Assad took power, the previous sunni lead governments continued the same policy as the previous 30 years...that Lebanon was the 16th provence of Syria and not independent.
Bashar Assad recognised Lebanon as independent country with an embassy and withdrew the occupying army.Syrian,Lebanese conflict should have ended. Instead, the same people that wanted Lebanon to be part of Syria, defended Syrian occupation, colluded and benefited from the occupation, are now the saboteurs of peace between our countries.
This is the truth!
Arsal. I use only 1 name... the same name i've used since 2001 when Naharnet 1st started the site. Where have you been ya Arsal? Are you only 1 month old or which other names have I had the pleasure reading?
yeah dude ado.australia aka bigjohn aka parraeels aka full.disclosure aka.. uses only 1 name... and he's been posting on Naharnet since 2001, for thim it's not only a job it's an adventure.
This is not just about sectarian religious, irani/saudi, sunni/shiite, Christain/muslim. This is about an independent Lebanon. Lebanon is not Syria. Those that what to tie our countries together through their sectarian views are the problem. We are nothing but pawns in a chess game.Pawns are the stupidest, most dispensable piece. Congratulations to these pawns who are celebrating the syrian war. all sides thought they would benefit some how. To all fools that cheer the syrian war...there is no solution to the syrian conflict without the suffering and death of Lebanese!
Amazing it's like Aoun of Christmas past is here to haunt the Syrian regime. Everything he said then reflects the current situation. The warnings are the same, although the names of the terrorists change the terrorists sponsoring regime is still the same. The regime's terrorist tactics are the same from Samaha on, they instigate the terrorist act, blame others for it and then offer to help. The defenders of the regime are also the same, they use the same arguments and excuses they did back then.
Syria will be represented in the coalition against jihadists by the FSA not by Bashar's forces. The countdown for the Jihadists and for Bashar has started.
We've been hearing voices from the Syrian Regime, Hizballah, and the FPM crying to enter the coalition against jihadists along side KSA and the USA. These are the same voices that were attacking KSA and the USA and accusing them for supporting ISIS.
Again, the coutdown for the end of Bashar and ISIS has started.
Training for new brigades is going on as we write. They will be well trained and well equipped. Rumor has it that Munaf Tlass will be leading the FSA soon if not already.
The fact is that the coalition against jihadists will not include Bashar nor Hizballah. ISIS and Nusra will shrink to nothing under the coalition's attacks and the FSA will rise to take over in Syria. Your beloved Bashar and Hizballah will be scrambling to exit Syria. Stop fooling yourself.
Texi
That sounds like a plot to a garbage movie script you must be working on in the dark corners of the basement you live in.
Try being realistic for a second....
Everyone knows who is fighting ISIS. Weather the US wants it or not they will have to rely on SAA, HA and IRI to do the ground work that they are already doing.
Yes little Texi cowboy is specialized in movie scripts, he should be working for Hollywood, with all his fantasy & brilliant ideas.
Texy
That movie idea sounds even worse....
The real story is far more exciting and entertaining...
Its hard to tell weather you actually believe the BS that you type or if you know your talking smack.
2000 FSA fighters died against ISIS cuz they were busy fighting eachother over you gets to collect the bounty from the innocent victims theyve killed.
Texi
You are and have been since day one, calling for the USA to bomb yet another Arab country...
I know you could care less, your living your comfortable life in your parents basement. But the people that actually live in this region do care and could do WITHOUT another US democracy-bombing raid.
But you keep calling and wishing for the US strikes. All your doing is exposing how low you truly are.
Drop the argument and save it for someone who merits it
They publicly and repeatedly humiliate themselves
Criticizing the raid, the coalition and motive behind it and at the same time begging to be part of it
As for facts, when was the last time they have used it
Propaganda by default is meant to make u doubt your facts while presenting none, sadly they're gd at it
I want him prosecuted to bring justice to syrian, palestinian and lebanese victims
The whole world should be able to see his atrocities and remember him as a war criminal and true terrorist not as a fallen leader
Those are not facts Texi-poo.
Those are your opinions you try to pass off as facts.
Your hatred and jealousy of Assad and HA has effected you tremendously and so you express your points based on your emotional attachment alone and nothing factual.
Control your emotions and look at the situation with an open mind, please :)
Texi
Did you know that Intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair.
Oh ya and Assad aint going nowhere...
Syria should be in the coalition!!! What a joke this syrian killing regime is... They want to be part of the coalition so they can kill the opposition against the regime and justify the killing of children , women , civilians under the name of the war on terror!!!They don't need to be part of the coalition because they are already doing so and people are watching them... The real terrorist are Assad regime, hizb elshaytan in leb, iranian regime, the saudi regime, USA, Russia...and all the big powers that supplies weapons, and are watching like viewers the killing and the opression of innocent people in syria and all around the globe...Did someone ever asked it self where the so called terrorist groups(ISIS, hizb shaytan, hamas, quaida, etc... gets their wepons and money from???) you will find the answer by you're own...
The quote from Aoun in 2003 about Syria being terrorists shows how much of a sell-out he is today (that was from some karim, not the Syrian one lol).
Bill the Butcher you just deny facts Texas laid out for you. These are true things going on right now, stop living in denial. Assad is a terrorist (remember Michel Samaha? And when Wissam al-Hassan got blown up for catching him?)
Portugal, please learn some English. Never once have you spelled Christians correctly, not to mention you spell every other word wrong.
Gandalf the Iranian, stop making statements about what the Islamic Republic of Iran supports. Are you their official spokesman?
If Aoun was an independent, all his followers on this site would be against Hezbollah and Syria. It's because Aoun is allied with them that these people are forced to defend them in debates.
Lol. You're right Flamer recently has been defending Hezbollah a lot. Before there was the Aouniyeh which is Flamer and Roar, then the Hezbos like Southern and Mystic and Big John. Now they've all become one group known as the Hezbo-Aouniyeh psychopaths.
Binary, you're right nothing has changed about Bashar. Only thing that changed was how Aoun accused him of selling him out to the US in 1990 then in 2006 joined Hezbollah. Like you said, nothing changed.
Sorry correction: in 2003 he called Assad a terrorist then visited Syria in 2009. My fault for bringing up 1990
Hey Texi, how do you explain your so called "Moderate Al Nusra" http://www.naharnet.com/stories/en/147203-syria-rebels-is-in-non-aggression-pact-near-damascus
Wow tric, again
Chritians
Shiites
Sunnis
Kurds
Now write each 10 times, maybe u'll spell it right next time you post
U know what, make it 20!
Yes we know about the main alliances, and we know the FSA is the weakest. However, the Islamic Front and the FSA have sided with each other in battles. If Bashar is ever gonna be defeated, the West will have to convince the Islamic Front to change their ideology/objectives. As to whether or not they'd be willing to change I have no clue. But the point is the Islamic Front and the FSA have fought alongside each other before.
Naharnet once again you censor my comments... Im respectful and Im a loyal follower of the matyr Gebran Tueni. Please respect and share my comments.
Kindly.
Bigjohn, comrade, happy to see some comon sence here, at last so light...
Just on coment, please lose the silent majority crap (u know al aktariyeh al samita), this is just a way to make ourself more at ease and avoid to take side, like in lebanon in 2005 despite assassination of hariri, kassir, hawi... Some leftists (still living in soviet area as if putin was a secular, socialist comrad fighting the evel imperialistic west) chose that they are with the silent majority...
Revolutions, uprising, dictatorial regime changes rarely come with flower and if secular persons just stay out of it it wont make it better at all...
U once said u were a leftist, leftists are not supposed to be with the people against the tyrans? (Ryad el turk was jaild for approximatively a period equal to mandela..) against people like makhlouf (bilionaires bc of the regime family while the population is living in shit?...) i must hv got leftist wrong..
Anyway u win ur chupachup rafik, hv a nice weekend
Anyway it might be stupid but that how i think.. Now relax bro, u can keep being a leftist who thinks that mother russa is still spreadding socialism, that china is a cominist country, that a new world order will rise with secular and progressist iran in front of nazi europeens and imperialist usa...
Yalla u still get ur chupachup rafik, relax....
And yes please lose that silent majority crap, if u like it or not it's just a way to get detached from any ongoing fight...
@Mystic, if you hate the USA so much, why beg for them to engage their air force to save your ass from those who make up the other face of the terrorism coin. The first, of course, being your darling HA.
There's nothing free nor patriotic about FPM. They pretend to be serving the best interests of Christians when they're simply using their seats from the 2009 elections to boycott Parliament and leave this country without a president all because of one man's greed
I agree that sa3eka was invented and came from Syria tens of yrs ago. But you all admit she is sexy.
