الأسد يحدد السابع من أيار المقبل موعدا للانتخابات البرلمانية في سوريا وواشنطن تعتبر الأمر "مثيرا للسخرية"

أصدر الرئيس السوري بشار الاسد مرسوما يقضي بتحديد السابع من ايار موعدا للانتخابات التشريعية في حين لا زالت البلاد تشهد قمعا عنيفا للمحتجين الذين يتظاهرون منذ عام تقريبا.
وقالت الوكالة العربية السورية للأنباء الرسمية "سانا" أن "الرئيس الاسد يصدر مرسوما بتحديد انتخابات مجلس الشعب في السابع من ايار القادم".
وسيتم عبر هذه الانتخابات انتخاب اعضاء مجلس الشعب الجديد للدور التشريعي الاول لعام 2012 والتي حددت مهامه بموجب الدستور الجديد للبلاد.
وتم الاستفتاء على الدستور الجديد في 26 شباط واصبح نافذا بموجب مرسوم رئاسي اعتبارا من 27 شباط.
وكانت الحكومة السورية اقرت في 26 تموز 2011 مشروع قانون الانتخابات العامة الهادف الى تنظيم عملية الانتخابات العامة التشريعية والمحلية وضمان سلامتها.
ويهدف هذا القانون الى تنظيم انتخاب اعضاء مجلس الشعب واعضاء المجالس المحلية وضمان سلامة العملية الانتخابية وحق المرشحين في مراقبتها.
كما قضى قانون الانتخابات العامة بتشكيل لجنة قضائية تسمى اللجنة العليا للانتخابات مقرها دمشق تتولى الاشراف الكامل على ادارة الانتخابات واتخاذ جميع الاجراءات اللازمة لضمان نزاهتها وحريتها وتتمتع بالاستقلال التام في عملها عن اى جهة اخرى.
وتتكون هذه اللجنة من خمسة اعضاء من القضاة يسميهم مجلس القضاء الاعلى من مستشاري محكمة النقض ومثلهم احتياط، ويصدر مرسوم بتسميتهم وتشكل لجان فرعية قضائية في كل محافظة برئاسة قاض بمرتبة مستشار استئناف وتسمى بقرار من اللجنة العليا وتتبع لها وتعمل تحت اشرافها.
عتبرت الولايات المتحدة ان تنظيم انتخابات نيابية في سوريا كما اعلن الثلاثاء الرئيس السوري بشار الاسد وسط اعمال العنف امر "مثير للسخرية".
وقالت المتحدثة باسم وزارة الخارجية الاميركية فيكتوريا نولاند في تصريح صحافي ان "انتخابات نيابية ... وسط اعمال العنف التي نراها في انحاء البلاد، امر مثير للسخرية".
وكان قد اصدر الرئيس السوري مطلع آب 2011 مرسوما تشريعيا خاصا حول تأسيس الاحزاب وتنظيم عملها ومرسوما تشريعيا اخر حول قانون الانتخابات العامة.

So laughable--he has "elections" and gets almost 90% of the vote while he is bombing his own people, and somehow almost 60% of the eligible voters managed to vote.
He is trying to make himself out as a reformer, but there aren't many in the world that believe him; I don't think he believes it either.

I do not think they will hold these elections in may, and that is because of the war that israel will launch soon on hizbushaitan: he will find that his ally is no more and will be thinking about how fast he is going to pack his stuff and run to hide somewhere :)

Its really strange that the regular syrian army the one made up of sunnis have not turned yet after seeing all of what's going on and the killings of their families and relatives. I know that the part of the army which was mainly sent into lebanon and its usually made up of idiots and really uneducated poor conscripts who have shown how cowardly they ware in the past, but still you would think that they would at least defect and try and help their own. dont you think they get news of what's going on? cant wait to see bashsar and that fat Muallem hanging in the middle of damascus

Let us get real. The Assad Regime is a Mafia, it is not a government. The trappings of government, such as a constitution, laws, a parliament even elections are all facade to cover that this is no government it is Mafia. So when Assad says he is going to improve elections, change the constitution, this is to change the cover, improve the draperies so that the real nature of the regime can be better covered and hidden

How many parties are registered for the vote? If the answer is 1, then all is the same. Why didn't he do a presidential vote first??
