If Iran ever succeeds in making a muclear bomb after having spent billions while its people are starving, the Saudis and the rest of the gulf states will follow suit and spend billions on matching the Iranians and from there on the cold war between Iran and its gulf neighbors would escalate with all the financial ramifications and fallout. And guess who would win: ISRAEL. it's the dream of Israel to have these Muslim countries drain their wealth on non sense like the nuclear weapons. On the other hand, Iran doesn't want to scare israel by the nuclear weapons, but rather its Arab neighbors like Huzbullah is doing in Lebanon.

It smells like they are making a deal. Ease up on the Nukes and we will preserve the Syrian regime and its subsidiary in Lebanon.

The Syrian regime would not survive no matter what the USA and its allies in Europe are hoping for. A regime that kills its people could not and should not stay in power. The people of syria know very well that time could not be rolled back and the bloodshed could be be stopped by the going of the Assas family from power. Those who think a deal is near are either naive or ignorent. In most cases, the fate of people is only made by the people. Look at the American's defeat in Iraq. They spent almost a trillion and left like rats. The Americans are noisy without power. We have seen them all over. In Lebanon when they packed after the marines were targeted; and now they will leave afganistan empty handed. believe me when I say Syria will be governed by its 20 million people not by 5 Assad family. assad name will be history exactly like Saddam, Mubarak and Bin ali. only truth can prevail.
