I agree with most of what you say, except for the fact that should/when peace occurs between the Palestinians led by Abu Mazen and Israel, the economic situation of all the people in the West Bank can only improve.
Hamas is not interested in the people of the Gaza Strip, otherwise they would have spent the $400 million they received from Qatar on purchasing food, medical supplies etc for the population instead of buying rockets.

Well said Flame Thrower:) Hamas is the most democratically elected government in the Middle East and look how they were treated. Hamas, don't STOP, keep on hitting them hard, let them feel how we have felt since 1948. Their phone network and airport down, and you made them crawl underground, let them feel how we felt during their terrorism against us in the Middle East. Enough is enough and Israel never wanted and never will wish to have peace with their neighbors in the Middle East, so time to pack and go back home to East Europe or wherever they came from. As the Hamas terrorists have decided to aim rockets at Jerusalem, would it be wrong of me to hope that as these missiles are not guided that at least they hit the Palestinian inhabited quarters of Shuafat or Issawiya, or the Old City and Haram as Sharif, not to mention Bethlehem or Ramallah just 10 kms away in either direction.

Palestine was never a state, it was a province that came under the sanjuk of syria, ottoman empire. It is and has always been the dwelling place of jews, long before islam. It is the palestinian jews' right to self determination which led them to establish the state of israel. The palestinian arabs cold have had a state too, had they not wanted to destroy the state of israel from its birth. now we're in this shit because no arab nation wants to absorb their palestinian arab brothers into their own country, keeping them in camps and using them as political pawns against israel. palestinian arabs, you have been lied to for the past 60 yrs. history 101.

No my dear you are completely wrong. The only way to halt war is to make peace. Israel has offered many times to make peace with Lebanon. It has succeded with Egypt and Jordan. With Lebanon we could have had a peace deal in 1983 but Assad forced the Lebanese to cancel this deal.

Barak in Taba offered a great deal for Arafat, East Jerusalem, 98% of west bank and 2% compensation in the Negev. Yet Arafat refused.

The middle east cancer is not Israel. It is the Arabs and Islam incapacity of adapting to a modern changing world where democracy, liberty of speech, justice and critical minds dominates.

Where ever Arabs and Islam left a heritage in the world there are currently problems, fighting, miseries, and tyranny. The problem is in the fundamentalist interpretation of Islam where the rules of Islam are imposed on people with force. Look back in history.

Whether Israel is here or not, the problems will stay. In fact it could be a chance for the middle east if we manage to find a peaceful solution and work hand in hand with the Israelis as they have a modern and very advance society.
