Sinead O'Connor Found Safe near Chicago after Scare
Irish singer Sinead O'Connor was found safe Monday in the Chicago suburbs, a day after her disappearance on a bicycle ride raised fears for her safety, police said.
O'Connor "has been located safe and is no longer listed as a missing/endangered person," said Eric Peterson, a spokesman for police in Wilmette, Illinois.
Police had several hours earlier issued an alert, saying she had last been seen riding her bicycle Sunday at 6 am (1100 GMT) and had not been heard from since.
The police did not comment on where she was found, but the local Wilmette Beacon newspaper said she had been staying for several weeks with friends in the suburb.
O'Connor has recently posted a series of alarming messages on Facebook, including suggesting late last year that she had tried to commit suicide by overdose.
