Ex-Miss USA Rima Fakih Arrested on Drunk Driving Charge
A lawyer for former Miss USA Rima Fakih said police in Michigan arrested his client on a drunken driving charge.
Doraid Elder told the Detroit Free Press newspaper that Fakih is "very saddened and very apologetic for the situation that she is in right now."
Elder said police arrested Fakih early Saturday.
The 26-year-old Fakih was the first Arab American winner ever. She was born in Lebanon and raised in New York.
She hails from the southern Lebanese town of Srifa.
Fakih won the Miss USA Pageant in 2010, and her reign ended in June.
