Madonna to Sing at Super Bowl
Pop star Madonna will perform at next year's Super Bowl, the final game of the American football season, which will be played in Indianapolis on February 5, organizers of the event announced.
The singer's performance will be accompanied by Cirque de Soleil and Jamie King, the National Football League and NBC television said late Sunday.
The Super Bowl halftime show, which is usually broadcast worldwide, is the most-watched musical event of the year. More than 162 million viewers in the United States viewed last year's show.
The list of recent halftime performers includes The Black Eyed Peas, The Who, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2.
Madonna is currently working on a new album scheduled to be released next year.
