Mikati hints he's ready to return as PM, rejects 'bargains'
Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has signaled that he is willing to be re-appointed to his post, in the first such stance since the parliamentary elections.
In remarks at a university graduation ceremony in Tripoli, Mikati called for speeding up the designation of a new premier, warning that Lebanon no longer has the “luxury of time.”
Rejecting that “the premiership post and the premier in person be turned into a material for settlements,” Mikati added that he is “ready for public service” while maintaining his “clear national and personal principles.”
“Mistaken are those who think that raising the voice and stirring political and journalistic dust in our face can compel us to deviate a single iota from our principles,” Mikati stressed.
He also emphasized that he “will not hesitate to reject any attempt to engage us in settlements in which the country has no interest, or in political bargains that contradict with our principles.”
With these characters in power over and over again, Lebanon has no hope. Who is to blame? The Lebanese people are solely to blame.
Not only the Lebanese people are to blame but that stupid election law.
For you radicals/leftists/ the Guevara wearing t-shirts, who go on about and destroying property especially banks and chant Kelon ya3ni Kelon, maybe for a change chant/demand an election law that is based on the principle of One man one Vote, instead of the stupid "List" that we currently have where people on it are just there and get elected that have no agenda or project whatsoever, then maybe you be able to elect descent non corrupt non crony people and have real change.
