Iran said Monday that it hopes the transfer of frozen funds as part of a deal with the United States to exchange prisoners would take place within days.
"We hope that this transfer will be completed in the coming days and that Iran will have full access to its assets," said Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani.
He said the funds will allow the Islamic republic to "purchase all non-sanctioned goods" which are not limited to food and medicine.
