Jeremy Scott Uses Bart Simpson as Muse for Fashion
Bart Simpson took the New York Fashion Week runway Wednesday thanks to designer Jeremy Scott.
Known for his wacky, colorful designs, Scott used pictures of the cartoon prankster from "The Simpsons" on sweaters for men and women. The little guy even popped up on thigh-high leg warmers for women and his "Bartman" persona was on a sweater for men.
"For me, Bart is the ultimate icon," Scott said. "He's funny, speaks his mind, and he's been known to moon on occasion! What more could you want?"
The rest of the runway was what you'd expect from Scott — kooky designs with a retro feel. Women were in rainbow-striped sequined strapless gowns, some wore blue lipstick with jewels stuck to their faces. Men wore kilts. The show started with a sparkly pink trench coat, overalls and bell bottoms.
Scott walked the runway himself at the end of the show wearing, what else, a Bart Simpson sweater.
